Good Points: Worth a go for "McGoohan's Blues" alone.
Bad Points: Unfortunately, Harper's voice sounds desperately strained in parts of many of his early albums, and ths one is no exception. He strains for the high notes, and his voice is often near cracking point. The production and mix on some tracks could be better. The tracks are patchy in their songwriting standard.
General comments: Folkjokeopus is a fresh, quirky, impromptu folky sounding album with one outstanding and unforgettable track - McGoohan's Blues. This epic takes up most of one side of the original vinyl, and has a timeless, dreamlike feel to it. This one track makes the whole album worth while - an amazingly under-rated, classic folk rock "journey" song.
