The Daewoo DS608P is only 18 months old but is now obsolete how can something this new be obsolete? it no longer works as the digital transmission upgrade made this model obsolete and can no longer tune in to any signals- Read gixxersixx's review (50 words)

DAEWOO YOU ARE A BIG BIG BIG LET DOWN . Yes I know you have no control over Digital changes however, it is within your control to look after valued customers who in the past have bought your products and even recomended them.
Why were we not told. I have revisited my ds608p piece of scrap for the last week dismanteling unites to fix it. How stupid I felt today after I phoned your customer service dept. My wife has stoped speaking to me, she believes I have lost all her ...HER programes. I shoul ...- Read Dermot Furphy's review (131 words)

I found this unit easy to use until a transmitter upgrade at Sutton Coldfield. After this the unit can't find any channels. From what I read, it is now obsolete. Some owners have been able to get free replacements from Daewoo.- Read Guest's review (48 words)

I'm in London and this set stopped working this week. Signal strength is fine through my aerial but the Daewoo cannot read the signals. Only found about it by searching through the internet. Do not buy as this is redundant now.- Read Guest007's review (61 words)

Whilst I have had 4 good years out of this set top box it is now rendered useless following the recent channel update. Would it have still worked if I had not been foolish enough to update the channel information? The annoying thing is this box cost me £70 over 4 years ago and yes I know a replacement is only £20 but some of the new ones are not without problems !I will never buy a daewoo product again!!- Read Guest's review (93 words)

We felt Daewoo could have informed the public fact that we cant use the box now it just about caused a war in this house .We only read about it in the paper to-day .Never mind we never did get all the channels, now with our very cheep woolies box we get the lot. Please make it public so people know the problem.- Read Guest's review (69 words)

The Daewoo DS608P Freeview box was good when we could receive a signal. Not much use now as it is not compatible with new transmission signal.- Read Guest's review (40 words)

As far as the 2K carrier thing and 6 muxes goes, in GB this probably wont matter, as all your transmitters only carry up to 6 muxes and all (so far anyway) your digital channels have a 2K subcarrier bandwidth. But over here in Ireland the Irish DTT service which started later than yours, uses an 8K carrier. So far we've only got 4 muxes, but combined with the 6 UK ones the receiver needs to be able to deal with 10 or more! I had a prototype of the 608P for trials before the production model was ...- Read machead's review (220 words and 1 comment)

I used the Daewoo DS608P in an area with a known poor reception, but works well (the BBC Post Code checker says that I should not recieve any DVB at all). Have been using now for a year with no problems, apart from two days when the signal strength went to zero due to weather conditions.
Dead easy to use. well worth the money.- Read Brendan Sothcott's review (71 words)

When the Daewoo DS608P box arrived on the shop floor I rushed over to check what it was. looking at the demo model, it looked very fashionable and would go with my silver VCR and TV. It was only £52, and If I didnt like it, I could take it back. Great!
Setup was easy. Plug this into that, and then press a button for 6 seconds. within minutes, the system had fully setup, had welcomed me, and was showing BBC1 in a clear digital reception.
Im a university student, and I decided to take ...- Read pmht's review (237 words)

Bought this Daewoo DS608P set top box after it was recommended by the sales person who seemed to have a gripe about the other model I was considering (which was a Grundig).
Set up was a breeze, although the first attempt missed some channels (ITV1 etc), but picked them up on the second attempt. Was a bit unimpressed with the layout of the remote and there doesn't appear to be any way of accessing a manual tuning menu (not that you should really need it)
Didn't like the layout of the on-screen ...- Read Silver's review (233 words and 1 comment)
