Good Points: Looks, build quality, Active subwoofer shakes the room
Bad Points: Subwoofer standby mode switches on and off during movies as power off delay is too short.
General comments: I bought these Sony SA-VE335 speakers to go with the VSX-C100 Pioneer amp and DV454 DVD player. The sound has blown me away. My neighbours just don't talk to me anymore.
The bass that the sub woofer pumps out is smooth and easy to listen too without booming, however when the action starts during a movie it really does shake the room (Monsters Inc electricity surge is a must hear). The dialogue is crisp and clear and the speakers look good and blend into the room.
I would recommend these to anyone, especially at the price of just under £200 online. My only gripe was that the auto power off setting on the subwoofer turned off the sub during movies and was often slow to come back on missing out on some key sequences in films. I have reverted to turning the sub on and off now however it is easily forgotten and left on overnight.
