Along with Nirvana Unplugged, this album is on my top 10 list of best unplugged albums. The voices are raw, real and they grip you with their emotions!! People who say that grunge never existed, need to take a listen to all unplugged albums - you cannot class this as rock or acoustic. It's got that mood that you just don't know where to categorize it. I say: GRUNGE! At it's best. The vocal harmonies on tracks like: "Down in a hole" and "Heaven Beside you" are superb, flawless! Layne Staley and Jerry Cantrell were such a strong team vocally (not to mention their skills on guitar with unique riffs). If you are a fan of Layne Staley, this album is a must! Layne Staley definitely left behind a legacy... he recorded with bands like: "Heart" and "Mad Season". I still can't believe he died at such a young age. Such a talented young 35 year old's life, destroyed by addiction! I am glad I was introduced to this album, it's worth it!

This Alice In Chains performance is one of the greatest of alltimes. The stage presence and work of art that is brought to the table on this recording is majestic and genious. I am a big fan of bands like Dave Matthews and Ben Harper and this CD blows both of them away. Although Layne's performance isn't flawless, it almost adds to and builds up the melody of the songs (buy the album and you will know what I mean). The rest of AIC and their guest were professional and almost flawless. This album is musical inspiration. If you do not purchase any CD's this year, think again and get this one.
