by the way is an amazing album same as all there other albums there just incredible musicians and i find the album liberating, there music is really funky and alive. i just couldnt and wouldnt place there music or them as people into a catagory, they make a great statment with there music and really stand for peace and power of the people. and there music turns me on :P lol

Quite disappointed with By the Way , the more intense riffs and driving funk are all but gone as they descend into the murky depths of pop. Red Hot Chili Peppers individuality is slowly being compromised, you could see it comning in Californication. But it's not without its good songs such as Can't Stop, Cabron and Midnight.

Where to start?? Red Hot Chili Peppers, By the Way is without a doubt my favourite album EVER!!!!! The Chili's music is so obviously cared and nurtured until they have made some of the best songs of the decade. I bought the album a week after it came out and I have listened to it nearly every day since then and I still love the album. My favourite song on the album is Can't stop but I love don't forget me, dosed, the zephyr song, tear, by the way and on mercury. This album will be recognised as a classic in the same way Blood Sugar Sex Magik is today.

Red Hot Chili Peppers, By the Way - I bought this because I liked 'Can't Stop' and it was only cheap. I had to listen to the album about 5 or 6 times to get used to it. I am still unsure of some of the tracks on this album.

I wasn't really a fan of the Red Hot Chilli Peppers until i got this album for Christmas, i put it on and oh my god! They are now my favourite band ever. The songs are well written (even though they do have slightly weird lyrics), and well performed, the chillis are a talented lot and this is the one of the best albums i have heard in a long while.

Along with Californication, By The Way is the best album of its year. It is the best album in which the chili peppers have made. The combination of Flea's bass, Fruciante's excellent guitar skills and Kiedis's emotive singing makes this album from the chili's unmissable. It is rare for an album to have so many good tracks.

Bit disappointed with this (and most of 'Californication') better than most rock/pop bands, but not as innovative, or interesting as 'Blood, sugar, sex, magik', which is still the best album of their career in my opinion. The funky element has all but disappeared from their current sound, which is a shame as that what made R.H.C.P stand out from the crowd....Not any more though.

All of the songs are really good tracks. Just the quality i expected from one of the worlds best bands!

I have only been playing guitar for about 2 and a half years now, i've gone through idolizing santana.. after i've heard the by the way album, john fruciante changed the way i look at the guitar. You don't need distortion to make a great rock album. He uses none, if rarely. The drums are brilliant and flea uses his bass match its counterpart guitar to make an ensemble all on its own. As for anthony, he is the frontman..he can still hold on to his funk roots while combining it with his the new found red hot sound..its amazing what great musicians can accomplish. this album is a perfect example of great music..if you play drums, bass, guitar, lyricist, vocalist, this album is for you.

i can only hope that by the way is as good as californication, which is, if u don't know, a classic (i wasn't really into their earlier stuff). stupid warner warner brothers production tho....now i can't go to hmv to buy it...:(......even tho i don't buy cds there. someone give me some feedback as to whether i should buy it or not.
