Good Points: Wonderful treble - lively but never bright. Mid range has presence. Vocals (particularly female) are vivid and clean. Awesome Sound stage. Bass is tight and responsive.
Bad Points: Bass seems to lack in the lowest frequencies. Hard to drive. If you purchase these speakers be ready to shell out for a decent amp with a minimum of 100w p/c.
General comments: After a long process of elimination I finally decided to part with my hard earned for a pair of Energy C9's. I'm very satisfied with them. They can go loud and manage to present most musical genres with a delicate touch and a dynamic range. There are probably better 'rock speakers' out there but for jazz, classical, opera and acoustics these were, for my ears the best speaker I trialled... and I certainly trialled many.

I ended up purchasing C-9's for $1200 cdn after looking at JBL's ,Mission, B&W and a few others. I found these to be the best for the money. I watch a lot of movies but also like to listen to music. I had a yamaha 593 that puts out 80 watts pc...the C-9's sounded great. I now have a Yamaha 3300 that delivers 130 watts/pc which make the c-9's sing. I am absolutely amazed at how much bass the c-9's can create. If your worried about 6.5" subs not putting out enuf bass then I recommend taking these ...

I have had these Energy Connoisseur C-9 speakers for a month now, they are effortless, rich sounding speakers that really fill the room with sound.
Clear crisp sound with excellent imaging for H/T and Music DVD'S as well as CD'S.
I have them hooked up to a Carver 885.1 receiver and these speakers are very easy to drive as they are rating at 94 db efficient. I love listening to these with the grills off as they have a beautiful silver front on them (real eye candy).
