Good Points: Nice first effort.

Bad Points: If only they had a pro studio.

General comments: Indie bands are a dime a dozen nowadays but, every once in a while you come across a band that knows music. The Meantime is just one of those bands that I stumbled across on the internet. They are a project studio band that writes, performs and produces their own material. Their 2002 release "Long Shot" provides a mixture of song that is hard to describe in a word. It's radio capable with a touch of progressive. It's Harmony driven with strong melody. In a word, it's quite good. There are songs that move and songs that flow, lush songs and songs that bite. Trying to pin them down is difficult and fun. Their CD is only available via internet at www.themeantime.com where you can link to audio samples, online stores and other fun stuff. Go and take a listen. It's very much worth your time.
