Good overall airgun with easy shooting, in 15 minutes you are making good groups of shoots. Good power for a standard and very little recoil ,at least in my unit. Good wood, pretty, and also a decent blueing. Price of a chinese, and quality near to the top guns that cost three times more minimum.

Very good rifle, especially when the sights are completely set straight, I would have to say the most common fault is the rear sight shifting when the gun is cocked. This can be solved by tightening the screw as tight as it can go on the rear sight.

The Cometa 220 gun maybe cheap as it only cost around 100bgp but its worth double. The stock looks really good. It has red and green iron sights which make it really accurate if your using them, and the back sight is fully adjustable. Very accurate gun out to 50 yards. I have shot lots of vermin at this range with it, mine has a 3-9*40 nikko scope which are excellent for the price of 38.

The Cometa 220 (.22) is a good first rifle and would probably suit the younger shooter as it is very light and easy to cock. The accuracy of the open sight is reasonable but I would recommend a good quality 4x32 scope. If you are thinking of buying this rifle for plinking then it is a great choice but if it is for rabbits then I would recommend you to look at the cometa 300. I own both the 220 and 300 and rate them both as great quality rifles for the professional shooter or for beginners.

Just bought my first Cometa 220, after the guy in the gun shop said it had 12 pounds per foot. But upon getting home and testing it out, me and my mate found that his Crosman Magnum 2200 penetrated a thick plastic watertank, whereas my Cometa did not. We both used rws superpoint pellets. Does anyone know the best pellets to use in a Cometa 220? Also I thought the Magnum was less powered compared to the Cometa.

The Cometa 220 is an excellent little air gun for beginners with low budget. I would advise buying a better spring after 6 months just incase. Apart from that awsome all round weapon.

Well built and much rifle for the money.
I am still not a friend with the back sight and its accuracy. The back sight does not stop at the same position after each reload. This makes the rifle a little in-accurate in elevation.
The sights has good potential due to the fiberoptic/high contrast style.
If I will succeed to stable the back sight I would give the rifle a 10.

I have just bought one as my first rifle, both for me and my son to plink and possibly rat with. Finding it very easy to cock, and reasonably quiet, though i have nothing really to compare it with. I had to pay 90 gbp for it at my local shop, who reckons its one of his best sellers. So far I am struggling with its accuracy and wonder if the sights are set ok? How can I check if its me or the sights, any help appreciated in advance.

I paid $100 for my Cometa 220 brand new. It has a nice two stage trigger, optic sights [makes life a lot easier] nice and light, easy to cock. I can't really say any more i would like as much information as possible on this gun how far does it shoot and can i take it hunting for small vermin?
thank you if you comment on this review
