Good Points: Very tight band, not a jam session.
Bad Points: Not an LC does the blues CD.
General comments: I started listening to Larry Carlton around the Sleepwalk days. 1981? and was particularly drawn to his bluesier stuff. I always knew he had it in him. I kind of lost track of him through the years and heard him at the Clapton Crossroads Festival. He kicked off with the Friday Night Shuffle and electrified the whole place. The only act that I actually saw people dancing and grooving. The title track gave me goosebumps standing in the Texas sun. I got the CD in the mail today and have been listening all day. It's infectuos. This is not an Albert Collins/ SRV/ BB King etc etc cover CD. LC can't help the fusion thing and he's the king of it. Where a lot of his other stuff fused jazz, rock, with a nod to the blues, this is blues with a nod to jazz. I was hoping to steal some more licks from LC but as usual he's way beyond what I can comprehend. I can only hope for the tone.
