Good Points: The Crosman 795 is lightweight and easy to cock. The inner workings appear to be intelligently designed, and are improved from the traditional barrel-cocking guns.
Bad Points: The design features are rendered useless by the cheap materials: thin barrel encased in plastic. Mine came with a bent barrel so the rear sight could not be adjusted far enough to compensate. The trigger is atrociously heavy.
General comments: My Crosman 795 has become only a "project gun" . Though it voids the warranty I intend to disassemble it and tweak it. As I said its design features may be good, but they are defeated by the poor choice of shoddy materials. All to lower the cost, I suspect.

i like it, the Crosman 795 is nice in the winter when pneumatic or C02 guns aren't as well operating.

In all honesty, there aren't a whole lot of "youth" break-barrel guns out there, and in light of the current offerings, this rifle doesn't fare that badly.
The action is very, very easy to cock and it has reasonable power (500's with realistic pellets). The rear sight is adjustable for windage and elevation, although it is on the flimsy side. The trigger is heavy and creepy, but it's not quite as bad as the Industry brand "B1" model I got a few years ago.
The barrel is shrouded in plastic ...

The Crosman 795 is very good value for the money (only $80). Probably the most solid gun for the money. But I would recommend a pump with a pressure gauge instead, to be more consistent; the spring creates too much kickback and affects accuracy.

I had to get the 500 fps one because of canadian laws, anyways i've shot at lots of squirrels and the pellet goes into them but the squirrel gets away falling and limping but if i get a head shot it kills it in one shot... anyone have a good reccomendation on a gun that shoots 500fps or less and is good for small game?

I love this Crosman 795 gun though the iron sights are kind of bad this thing is accurate. A great thing for power is the second you pull the trigger (target at 50 feet) the pellet has gone through a caned peaches, can! the gun is easy to hold as its really light.
The gun is also made out of metal and a very hard synthetic material.
I'm going to equip a scope shorty and do some more pest control. This is a powerful gun and I think it's great for all ages.

The old Crosman 795, I had this gun some years ago and I loved it. This break barrel, spring actioned, pellet gun is a must for small game hunters. It shoots up to 600 fps, pellets only, and the rifled steel barrel makes this gun great. The stock is synthetic plastic making it rock hard. This gun only weighs around 4lbs. making it very light to carry around. If you put a scope on this then I would be very afraid to be a bird but the iron sight is just as good for the accuracy on this gun is amaz ...

I got my Crosman 795 at Canadian Tire for $99.86 Canadian in November 2001. So far I shot it over 3000 times with no problem at all. With this rifle if I hold it right offhand standing; I can shot within 1/2 inch circle at 10 meters/33' all the time.

Personly I hate this Crosman 795 Air Rifle because it is plastic and not accurate at all, the only reason I like it is because it has a little power. The big problem is the vibrations would wreck a scope/croshairs, with a scope you cannot sight it in properly because is has no accuracy. If you are intressted in buying a crossman break berral you should realy look into the Crosman/Medoza RM422 or any gun from the RM series. I have had an RM 422 for two days and right out of the box I can hit a pe ...

This Crosman 795 Air Rifle is a cheap imitation of all break barrel rifles that actually have good quality i.e Gamo and Winchester air rifles. Being a fan of break barrel air rifles myself, I felt that this gun was the worst I had ever shot. The only gun I find worth buying from Crosman is the Quest1000. This gun shoots off target almost every four shots or so. I purchased about four-hundred Gamo targets when I purchased my Shadow1000, and from about 10 yards with the Crosman795, I shot abou ...

I purchased the Crosman 795 when I was first starting in airgunning. This gun is a great gun to learn on because it isn't a 1000fps gun but it still has enough power to rid the yard of a few pests. Without modification the gun released a wild shot or two every once and a while but I found that cleaning the barrel often and applying pellet lube to a pellet every 100 shots solved that problem. The stock sights are acceptable but mounting a scope makes the gun way better.
Plinking: is able ...

This Crosman 795 spring piston Air rifle is ok for young shooters who want to experience airgunning. I do not recommend this rifle to pest hunters since the accuracy is so bad and unpredictable, that you'd have a better chance of hitting the pest by using the rifle as a club.

Overall a pretty good gun. There are really only two major faults I found. First is the trigger pull is fairly heavy and second, consistant accuracy can be a problem even with a higher grade of pellet. Best shooting accuracy is found within 30-35 yard range where its possiable to shoot extremely tight groups, however you will get the occasional 'wild shot'. I've had great success with JSB Exact Round an 8.5gr pellet, far better than Crosman pointed, being much tighter fit.

First off, the Crosman 795 is a good little gun overall. But being able to use a scope/red dot/pointer as an option would add to the value of the gun. Strangely enough though, the gun still has 3/8 mounts.
The 795 has enough power to take out squirrels, and small birds no problem, and generally within 1 well laid shot.
The front sight is a bit large for personal taste; shooting the gun at fair distances can be a bit of a guess work.
