Besides the fact that it is an improvisation - to put it simply, The Vienna Concert is one of the greatest pieces of music ever performed on pianoforte. Unprecedented power, precision, finesse and control, by Keith Jarett, one of the most influential pianists ever to grace the presence of the solo piano format- Read caasileahcim's review (52 words)

I feel everything that Keith Jarrett says in words, that he finally evokes the voice of the flame itself. I usually don't write about music, but I am making an exception today. From the first note of Part 1 to the last of Part 2, Jarrett instantly submerges himself within the flame, evoking powerfully moving sonorities, unlike any other music he has played. Keith Jarrett, The Vienna Concert - This is pure music. In Jarrett's own words, "the music speaks finally, of the flame itself." It is not programmatic; in its own way it is impressionistic without evoking Debussy. It is the work of a genius who, as an artist, is one of the precious few who legitimately can cross between classical and jazz and be extraordinarily competent in both genres.
