Beeman's warranty and service department are remarkable! Top quality materials and construction. Fabulous trigger. Sets the standard for an all-around adult air rifle in .177. Expensive, but well worth every cent ( this isn't really a "bad" point)

I bought the R9 because of all the rave reviews globaly, I've always enjoyed a good quality break-barrel springer!

Overall the R9 is impressive to say the least, the blueing is superb and flawless with German engineering oozing all over the place. The rifle is really nice to look at.

The Rekord trigger is about the best unit on this gun and aids in extracting some accuracy!

Personally I could never get my R9 to shoot with good accuracy performance, it was always a hit or miss with this rifle ...

Comment by Arkansas Man::: About a year ago I purchased my Beeman R-9 air rifle from Pomona Air Guns in Califorinia, and I must say Steve, (the business owner) did me right. Now to truly appriciate a well built Beeman rifle you would need to shoot a Gamo for a couple years prior. I always had precision accuracy problems with the Gamos. But, the Gamo guns were good training but left me wanting. So I spent a little more money and got a lot better gun with the r-9. My r-9 shot 2600 shots and th ...

Got my R9 new in 2003 and was shooting and shooting it. Just couldn't get it to group. Finally decided to send it to a tuner for a tune in Feb 2005...didn't see it again for 12 months. Finally got it back in Feb 2006. If you are planning to shoot this gun in Field Target competition, BE WARNED this is not an easy gun to shoot (even after a tune). This gun will punish you with a miss if you don't watch your technique. I've tried numerous holds, checked the stock screws, cleaned the barrel...the ...

Great reputation and well earned. The Beeman R9 holds the title of being the standard for serious starter air rilfe, its arguable that BSA, RWS and Webely may makes a better rifle. But not going by sells here in the USA or AR vetrans on the forums giving advice.

Its the most recommended and copied air rifle from serious users or AR makers given to future adult air riflemen. Unless you live in the UK.

Its hard to argue that R-9series has not earned this reputation.

    Most say that the ...

Before shooting your new R9 Goldfinger. Clean the bore thoroughly! Tighten all the stock screws and the front trigger guard screw. All mine needed tightened. Leave the rear stock screw alone. Seems to take a few hundred shots to 'break in'. Diesels for the first hundred to two hundred shots. Will surprise you when it diesels sounds like you dry fired the weapon. I think it will benefit from a tune.

I've owned a few air rifles over the past 20 years including a Webley Stingray, a Beeman R7,an HW77,and an FWB 124D.The R9 was bought as a replacement for my 20 plus year old FWB 124,which was stolen. A tough task, replace a classic, and my favourite rifle. Out of the box the rifle was a little rough, the first few shots dieseled, and the firing cycle had a pretty good twang. But after 1000 or so shots things started looking up, the firing cycle smoothed out and some of the twang went away, and ...

Do yourself a favour and look at the Webley Stingray instead.
I've had the R-9 in the past, and I much prefer the Webley-see Webley Stingray section for more info.

I had the r-7 before, not enough power. r-9 is great for my use. mostly quail, dove, rabbit, squirrel, and occasional pheasant. I love this gun. have killed squirrel at approx. 75 yds, 1 shot. goes clean through a full can of refried beans at 45 yds. hard boiled eggs explode at 25 yds. i shoot c.p.l's exclusivly. I cant wait to get a tune (macarri ultra glide kit) and a custom stock. Theres also some nice muz brk's and other accessories available.

The R-9 is great for hunting, target and plinking. With a little velocity tar on the mainspring, the gun goes "thunk" not "twang" and recoil/cocking effort is less. Have an inexpensive scope on mine and it has not destroyed it. The Rekord trigger, well-finished beech stock and blued Weihrauch barrel are all world-class and worth the cost. Saving up my $ to get a Deluxe version of the R-9 (checkered grip, interchangeable front sights, etc.)

The moment I grap the R9 in my arms; I bought it. It's dimension fits me perfectly at 5'6"; the 7.3 pounds says it's all steel and wood. You need to own other guns to appreciate the exceptional feel of the trigger. Coat AirLube on mainspring to dampen vibration and reduce noice. 7 of 10 4.5mm pellets I tried will puch overlapping holes at 15 yds. At 50 yds, Beeman Laser Sport is great for starlings; Crosman Premiere 10.5 gr. is deadly accurate for rabbit brain shot. Simmons ProAir 6-18x40 scope ...

Grip the R-9 and feel your wrist cramp after awhile, I have neither very small nor very large hands and find this configuration bizzare and uncomfortable. Good quality and power, but not good enough to warrant the price. Look at the BSA Supersport and get a better, similar rifle for less money. Beeman likes to call the Weihrauch rifles their own and then jack up the prices--too bad.

Care must be taken when loading the Beeman R9 rifle so as not to allow the barrel to snap closed. A cracked stock or bent barrel could be the result and is NOT covered by warranty. A long day of cocking and shooting the R9 will cause fatigue. Excellent small game hunting rifle. Head shots on tree squirrels is routine at 20 meters. The fit and finish of the stock is good. The blueing is very good. Standard adjustable open sights are more than adequate, however receiver peep sights or a high qual ...
