It is a very nice air rifle for the price. Not exactly powerful, but it is accurate at up to twenty yards. The shining quality of this gun is you cant break it. I have had mine a little over five years and have probably put 8,000 shots through it. I have had to repair the trigger and sights twice, but im not a gunsmith, even though i fixed it. I had to make a new rear stock for it because th one that came with it broke off. I would definatly recomend this to anyone that wants to get started in shootin air rifles. Although when you get it buy alot of those speed clips loading it by hand is a pain, but if you have to you'll get used to it. The scope is fine, i never used it on this gun, but i have used it on my other guns. Get this for you or your kid, but just get it!

I got the powermaster about 3-4 years ago, and it still has the performance it had on its first use. It's not the most powerful air rifle I've used. All in all, a reliable, easy to use rifle with mediocre velocity and decent accuracy for a good price.- Read Guest's review (48 words)

I have had my Crosman 66 Powermaster for close to 4 years now and it still works well. It is a good gun for everything I have used it for (shooting cans to shooting prarie dogs) and is very reliable. I have never put the scope on it so I am not sure how well it works but the gun itself is great.- Read Stevens Shadow's review (80 words)

Crosman 664x Powermaster is a pretty nice gun, especially for starters.
Accurate, adjustable rear sight though you have to cock it more than once to get a good aim.- Read Guest's review (29 words)

Nice piece of equipment for the money. Stays sighted in even when roughed up a bit. Can't find another magazine/clip and the pump doesn't pump up pressure any more after only a few years and can't find out how to fix it. Pellet clip is a nice feature though. Would probably buy another one.- Read Exitwound's review (55 words)

Bought one of these Crosmans new from Kmart to try out on some squirrels, but after a week,I wasnt very impressed.Found out quickly that it wasnt powerfull enough to hunt squirrels with pellets and too inaccurate with bbs,and like other reviewers,my pump handle was very wobbly and flimsy and the pieces in front or the pump fell off. This would be a good beginner gun to shoot cans with.Bought the old 66Powermaster with blued barrel and brown plastic from a neighbor for $20.00 and was surprised at t ...- Read Derrick05's review (137 words)

This gun is excellent for new shooters. Doesnt have enough power for hunting, and one would be better off throwing rocks than shooting bbs.Has great accuracy up to 20yrds with pellets. Not as powerful as a 880 but far more durable and accurate. This is not an adult air rifle.- Read Derrick05's review (66 words)

This gun looks and feels great for the most part. A good friend of mine owned this gun and swore it was the best. I found this gun to be quite accurate - although I'd recommend a scope of course. The pumping mechanism however was awkward and one day when another friend was pumping it, the part in front of his left hand below the barrel broke off. Gun worked fine but still, the fact that part of the gun broke off simply from pumping made me realize this gun is not exactly top-quality. I wou ...- Read blammo's review (193 words)

I would say to buy it for children that you dont want to be shooting animals with. the Crosman 664x powermaster air rifle looks good and feels really good. It penetrates wood like nothing with just 5 pumps.
I brought my gun to a expert had him line it up and he said after 3 hours of doing it this was the best he can do a 7 out of 9 and thats horrible for shooting small game- Read Guest's review (74 words)

This is a great target rifle but does not have enough velocity (664) for hunting. Very light and easy to pump for smaller shooters. Be prepared for lots of cheap plastic at this price point. The Crosman 664x powermaster air rifle is lightweight, inexpensive and accurate. I do think that there is not enough power though for hunting.- Read vitoa's review (57 words)

I've had this gun for over 1 year now and it's really accurate and with 2-5 pumps you've got a dead bird. Very accurate and a lot of power but the scope is cheap and isn't straight. I like this gun and i don't plan on replacing it soon.- Read Guest's review (48 words)

I love this rifle and i cant deny it, 45 bucks at walmart and im on my 4th year of heavy shooting, during summer months im shooting every other day at least.... I bought another one, that has to say something. This is not a magnum powered rifle that you can shoot 50 yards but it also cost nothing compared most of them. An excellent choice for in town pest control, target shooting and plinking. During the day with the breeze blowing and air conditioners running its not so loud, let it rip at thr ...- Read 177Kevin's review (233 words)

I am a gunsmith. So in all products that are put together on an assembly line there are bound to be flaws and errors, but I know crosmans quality control is very good, as well as crosmans customer service. If you buy the gun, make sure you check all the screws when you get home. also make sure all joints are lubed properly. (NEVER OVER OIL) and when you are not using your gun. Make sure you store it with 1-2 pumps of air in the gun, this will help keep the seals swollen. as well as your piston. ...- Read nachoglock's review (310 words)
