Good Points: Easy and simple, and does the job
On-screen equalizer
Plays DVD, VCD, DVCD, SVCD, MP3, WMA, CD, CDR, CDRW, Kodak CD, Jpg, Jpeg
Bad Points: The blue LED on the front is very bright
No power-off button on the remote
The remote is large (maybe that is a good thing)
General comments: Nintaus N 9808 Silver - I purchased this unit for my wife to use as a CD player in the bedroom (JB HiFi Brisbane $85) and found it played just about everything, even VCD's produced by Nero 6 that other DVD/VCD players could not. (Known problems regarding the Menu option). It also easily viewed files in Jpg format on a CDRW, straight PC copies, no special setup.

My review is short and sweet, for $70 AUD you can't go wrong with the Nintaus N 9808 Silver player, it plays everything you throw at it, my only gripes with this player is that the remote is way too big, also there is no power off button but until tonight I have found some hidden buttons. If you look below the Return Subtitle Angle Prog buttons and get something pointy then you and run it along on the sticker until you will notice that there is holes below the sticker, for some strange reason N ...- Read Magyar's review (193 words)

All I can add to the previous reviews is that this model now has Progressive scan (480p/60 NTSC and 576p/50.
Not too bad from what I have seen so far. Progressive works on my Sony KVEH36M31 (480p/60Hz on NTSC disks, 576p/50Hz on PAL). Region free of course, but I gather macrovision is hard to defeat (doesn't bother me). Haven't had a look inside, but would like to know which de-interlacer
it uses. The other Nintaus progressive model uses Faroudja. Surely not in a $99 player?

Bought it not really expecting much, but I was pleasantly suprised with this DVD unit considering the price I paid ($99.00 AUS = approx $65.00 USD)
Picked it up at JB HiFi in Melbourne. On screen menus are v.good, case and build quality looks v.good, came with 3-way RCA cable, remote and batteries included. Display is blue LED - nice and clear. It had a good range of analog buttons on the actual unit itself (and the front panel still didn't look "too busy") - this is handy if you ever lose ...- Read chocolate cake's review (331 words and 1 comment)

The Nintaus N 9808 DVD-player belongs to Nintaus' latest model line and it's very similar to Nintaus N 9868. The difference between the two DVD-players are basically that Nintaus N 9808 doesn't have progressive scan and it doesn't have scart connection.
But as usual Nintaus has added exciting features, rarely seen elsewhere. I can mention support of WMA, CD-G and Picture-CD.
The chips used inside the DVD-player are the finest presently available in any brand (Zoran/Audio).
Audio sound is ...- Read Irving's review (380 words)
