i used to be a regualar Luton debenhams shopper, until everything got changed. they rearranged everything in this branch. difficult to find what you looking for. If like me you are a bargain hunter , you will have to see every labels to see what exactly is 70% as they have notices throughout the store saying up to 70% OFF, it used to be a section for it, which was so much easier… Read Full Review

“Problem with a refund ....”

I have been waiting for a refund from Debenhams for the last month. I have emailed them 3 times with no response, and in the end had to call them, at my expense, to sort this out. They didn't seem to have any record of the courier collection, but luckily I had kept a record, and they promised a refund within 5 days. & Spencers, do not hold on to your money for such a long time and send out emails in a professional way to inform of forthcoming refunds to be made. In this case, if I had not made a note that a refund was due, I might have forgotten about it altogether, as Debenhams obviously had.

“They have turned themselves into a joke”

I previously brought some furniture a few years ago from Debenhams. The courier rang the evening before turning up to confirm I would be in and even though they turned up at 5am in the morning, due to living just of a extremely busy London route, the goods were in good order and were clearly new. “Poor restaurant service”

I have been a regular visitor to the store on the rock in Bury since it opened,at first it was a nice restaurant to visit but over the last few months it has become a depressing experience. The staff are not allowed any chat with customers they look very misserable they have often run out of food items and short of staff. Disgusted! Refund meant to go back in my account for red patent pump shoes. Trusted them and assumed it would. Consequently, I disposed of receipts. Now customer services and Hemel Hempstead store passing the buck between one another.... Their error, but customer gets penalised. “Great furniture- shame about delay in receiving it!”

Ordered and paid for two pieces of living room furniture from the Oxford Street branch, at the beginning of the year. The lads in the furniture department were very helpful and gave a delivery date of mid February. When the furniture still hadn't arrived by then, called the main Debenhams call centre, who were pretty useless. “Take your money but have no stock!!”

On several occasions after purchasing different items online and instore I have been charged for goods then a week or so later told that they are unable to fulfil the order or part of the order. They then hold on to your money for as long as possible before mucking it all up and refunding wrong amounts. Their reason for items being "out of stock" was always that there was a fault on their website. I myself have just had the same problem with them...they have taken my money and then 8 days later sent me an email telling me that they are unable to fulfill the order but the item is still on their site and listed as available with delivery within 4 days...why wont they sell it to me in that case ? i ve requested my money back as i now need to make an alternative purchase to be told that this is usually within 5 days...not good enough since delivery is also USUALLY within 4 days NOT!!! their customer service stinks and why is it that you are expected to pay to call a customer service line ? surely this should be free since customers only use this to complain to businesses where their service has fallen short. I was told by a supervisor last night that its not like its 50 p per minute ...just 5 p per minuet not withstanding that its take an average of 25 mins to get through and whatever ammount of time you choose to stay on the phone to the rude and dishonest staff. i was directed to contact head office as customer service are in their words ONLY THE FIRST POINT OF CONTACT AND CAN OFFER NO DETAILED INFO REGARDING YOUR ORDER !.

“I WILL NOT BE SPENDING MY MONEY HERE ANY MORE”

I am soooo over Debenhams. This is now the 2nd time in 6 months that I have been treated poorly by Debenhams and I will not be going there ever again. I had a dress put by that I went in to pick up 4 days later and they had gone and put it aside for someone else the day after I chose it! “Had both online and shop experiences with...”

Had both online and shop experiences with Debenhams.Firstly online I tried to order a xmas gift of a leather mens bag order came fast but was not the pictured item i thought i was ordering, tried another one that looked like item that came as something totally different.Eventually ended up taking both into a store to get the bag off the shelf.

Im not impressed.
if there is an addition service, (returning goods to the shop) after purchase from their web site, then there needs to be a more efficient way of dealing with it, and the staff need training .One lady who dealt with me said "it so rarely happened, when it does, no one knows what to do.
