Debenhams is one of those shops that you could easily spend a whole day in and refurb the whole if your house if you're not careful! Do you like shopping at Debenhams? Share your experience and create a review to help other customers.

Good Points: Returns was reasonably quick.
Bad Points: Where to start? Missing items, customer service slow to respond, too money from orders when they were out of stock and did not refund for many weeks after. I am still awaiting a refund of over 150 pounds on this.
General comments: Worst service I have ever received from a known department store, bar none.

I was just shopping in Debenhams and ended up getting a store card I didn't want due to an extremely hard sell. I was cajoled, stressed, embarrassed and tricked into signing up. I was told it would be cheaper to use the card than to use the tokens and cash I had on me. It cost '£13 more to use the card. I'm unemployed which makes it a big joke that they gave me one anyway - the thing has protection in case you lose your job and can't pay the balance.
I will no longer use Debenhams. When ...

Customer service is usually good at Debenhams.
I prefer the 12 hour extravaganza when you get a higher percentage off if they have the size that you want.
They have good number of stores - Canterbury and Westwood Cross are both good - Folkestone not so good.

I ordered from Debenham's online. I know it is probably my own fault but I ordered two of the same orders because I missed the 15% discount code. One order - full price 2nd order 15% off. To cut a long story short, I e-mailed Debenhams to explain the situation and to simply cancel the first order. Anyway, I did not receive a response within the 7 days as promised via the e-mail I had back. So I rang customer services (as I had since received the despatched e-mail from them). I spoke to a ge ...

Debenhams online sales are synonymous with ordering problems, no stock and no aftersales service. If the price looks too good to be true (or less) then don't expect to receive your product or any after-sales care - your debit card will be refunded around 4 weeks after ordering, without the decency of a reply.

I ordered a duvet which was on special offer, and I received confirmation of receipt of the order. Money was taken out of my bank account the following day, and I was stupid enough to believe the letters and emails I received advising that the product would be sent direct from the supplier. Three weeks after taking my money, it was quietly repaid into my bank account with no explanation or apology from Debenhams Direct - or compensation for the fact they had my money for 3 weeks. They say the ...

I will not buy anything from Debenhams on-line ever again. First, I could not arrange courier service, I called 5 times! After that I was not refund for a month, because they could not locate the items. Having that experience, next time I sent the items by post. Again, they don't know anything about the items and want me to send them a proof of posting. It is not hassle free return service, I'm spending money and nerves every time I want my money back. The worst costumer service possible.

I went into My local store as a last resort to buy a Birthday gift for my Dad.
I decided to have a wander around, as I never think of going there, as it's a bit out of the way.
I watched with horror as a (so-called) beautician at Debenhams applied an awful cosmetic make-up to a customer. Then when she finished, she started her horrific artwork on another customer. For fear of causing a scene, I left. I so wanted to ask her where she had done her training. I am a qualified Health, Holistic & ...

I bought some foundation from the Clinique counter in the Debenhams store in Oxford street, and I was told that I can get a refund on the product within 28 days with a receipt if the item is unopened and unused. I live in Luton, and I went to the local Debenhams and asked for a refund, but they refused to refund the money, as it is not Debenhams policy to refund cosmetics according to them. I was asked to call the store in Oxford street and speak to them. I called Oxford street, and they told me ...

Expect this service on a market not from a so called major store. First time I have ordered over the internet never again. If an email stating they had no stock or a phone call as they had my mobile number. Then I would have gone somewhere else.

After spending all day walking around Manchester looking for a pair of long black boots (most of which were too big around my calf), I found a pair in Debenhams. I picked them up off the standard display and they had a price tag of £150.00. On the display it did say Discount on selected ranges, and so I asked the assistant. She went to find out, and came back and told me that they were in the sale at £110.00. I tried them on, and at first I was not sure, as they had false laces up ...

We bought a dining table set at 50% discount for GBP 845 from them. The next month, we found it was still on 50% discount, but selling for GBP 700. We brought this to the notice of the store manager, who said this was perfectly acceptable practice, and advised we could write to customer relations. We've done that and got no answer.
We had also bought a carper from Debenhams, and their fitters dirtied the communal areas of the building, and they did not clean it.
We would not make any larg ...

I don't like Debenhams. The layout of the store is always confusing and every store I have visited has an overall feel of clutter. I always seem to lose my bearings in the store and I can never locate the escalator to exit the establishment. I appreciate that the folks who design the layout of such stores intend for you to have difficulty exiting their premises as they want you to look at as much stock as possible, but I timed myself and it took me a near five minutes to exit from the third f ...

Bought a Kenwood coffee maker from Debenhams and after we took it home it was not up to standard. Took it back the next day and was told we couldn't have a refund as it was a sale item and sale items with more than 50% off cannot be refunded (we weren't told this when we bought it). They could only exchange it there and then as they don't issue credit notes but there was nothing we could think of at that time. Took it back to another branch 4 days later and we were not even allowed an exchange!! ...

I like Debenhams it has a very good cosmetic department selling a good selection of make up and perfume, the shoe department has a good range of makes and styles at reasonable prices.
