I purchased a shower pump from the Woolwich branch, on the 25th march 2013, ended up not needing it any more, it was never fitted, but opened the box to check the product, it has been left in a dusty home being refurbed. I took the pump back to the branch to get a refund. the shop assistant Mike, opened the box had a look at the pump, called his supervisor over (Jason) to take a look, they then took the pump into the back of the warehouse, spent about 10-20mins came back and said this pump... At your newly opened Workington store I purchased a ring galv gate latch, sadly it had a fault, I was offerd areplacement immediately, no question. I had been given the last one in stock, so I opted for a black replacement, this was 26 pence more, dressed in my boiler suit I had not a bean on me, however I did offer my debit card. My issue is with the power tools and prices of products at screwfix. The powertools are made specifically for screwfix buying prices, they wont buy the drills etc from say dewalt in stadard spec instead they choose to have the drills made as cheaply as possible using cheap plastic drive gears as oppossed to metal gearings. This is fine for odd job joe but its the reason why tradesmen are fed up with broken drills that even dewalt technicians cant repair for you. (I know its happened to me)... (read more)

It is a while since I last made an order. They then state you can't return the goods or cancel the order. Same issues, ordered a expensive toilet they got all the parts wrong. Then next day delivered the wrong parts again. Over the phone they just basically said, 'not their issue' said they would call back 6x never did once.
After 6 calls they finally asked for the issue to be dealt with in writing and offered a £10 voucher. Cost of extra parts and labour was over £50. They did even say sorry once.
I would not trust screwfix to deliver their own catalogues on time and to right address.
They are part of Kingfisher PLC, avoid them you get better goods and service (and warrenty) from a market stall .

Very unfortunate situation. The irony is that the warehouse in wincanton 99.99% of the time has the stock sitting there. Unfortunately when you end up using an outside delivery company over the weekend they often prove unreliable and unhelpful. Plus Parcelforce is notoriously poor with both customer service issues and punctuality, but they still rate higher than the other companies out there.
According to h/o fulfilling an order for a weekend delivery is satisfied roughly 92% of the time, which obviously doesn't help you here. In future if you have issues like this they can give you good will vouchers up to £20 if you are prepared to chase it up.

This is not the case as clearly your 1star review is sat right here.
I personally cannot fathom your review score based on a £40drill. What are you expecting from spending £40? I know from experience that the warranty allows you to have it replaced with a year of purchase and they'll replace it in store. Is your review score based on the fact you think screwfix isn't letting you vent?
Check out screwfix.com for their reviews and you'll see that a great deal of products from their stanley or dewalts often have goods recalled due to defects or manufacturing issues - some of which prompt terrible reviews. Recalled goods which i know personally screwfix are very hot on.

This is a troubling complaint and I can assure you this isn't normal. Staff in store do not have the capability of cancelling an order without authorisation - the refund process is the only way this can be done and it must be done in front of the customer.
This situation only occurs if an item is withdrawn from sales due to manufacturing defects. This flags all of that particular in stores as unfulfilled.
Unfortunately at this time there isn't a way that this can be rectified as it is so rare, so it is down to the customer to notify the sales team the moment the item isn't in stock. And if in this case it is a manufacturer's issue, you were probably best left without it.
As for the high pressured sales environment, this isn't actually the case. Due to screwfix being primarily a trader's orientated outlet improving sales is extremely difficult beyond normal advertising. Of course individual outlets have sales targets, but these are based on promotions rather than being sales orientated. There isn't anything sneaky about it.
As for keeping items in stock, with screwfix having 200thousand invididual lines from time to time the item you are want isn't always going to be available. And if you find yourself agrieved by any process in screwfix you should make a complaint, good will vouchers up to £50 are available depending on how badly your order was screwed up.
Be reasonable and you'll get more out of screwfix.

Hi deney, i was told about it by the dewalt technicians that do repairs, they cannot repair many of the tools from screwfix. Buy a matching pair of drills one from a reputable dealer and one one from screwfix and you can tell the difference just by holding them, take them apart and itseven more apparent.
When i asked screwfix directly they wouldnt deny or acknowledge my claims and then stopped replying
