“Snapped after 4 months”

Written on: 17/05/2012 by prayforjapan

Horrible tucks. I bought these trucks about 4 months ago only to have them snap kickflipping off a curb. I wasn't even the king pin, the entire metal part in front of the kingpin broke off leaving a screwed in metal plate attached to my board. I had a friend who bought the same set as me and has had to replace the bushings due to intense tearing as well. Maybe we just had really bad luck or maybe it's the trucks. I've honestly never heard of anyone's trucks just snapping going off of... (read more)

very good and are low but when u add some shockpads or risers....they are perfection...kingpin is sturdy but bushings take time to soften so i recomend buying seperate bushings that are softer...overall great trucks for grinding and your standard street skating! (read more)

i think these trucks are pretty good but if you get these trucks you should tighten them every couple weeeks or so cuz once i was goin down a hill and i noticed the back truck was really woobly and when i picked up the board the truck fell off and i had to go back up the hill to find the king pin nut and a bushing overall these trucks are pretty good but defiently not your best bet.

I've ridden a lot of trucks the past few years, for example Indys, Thunders, Ruckus, Royals. But the only truck that has satisfied my needs is the Ventures. Theses trucks are amazing. The turn just the way you want them, and they come in many different colour variations. I've noticed that many people that have ridden Ventures claim that they have weak kingpins. Well i don't agree with that, the Ventures I'm using now hasn't broken. In fact, they are now just as they were when i bought... (read more)

I have been skating for 3 years and had Ventures. I had no problems with them until I started skating bigger stairs, rails etc. I snapped 6 Kingpins within 4 weeks. I recommend Ventures to beginners but to a more advanced skater I recomend > Independent Stage 9's (read more)

Venture Superlight Low are very heavy trucks. They don't grind that well they're actualy pretty sticky great for mini pipes. I think for stalls but no slide. On the plus side at least they don't fall apart you will have to tighten the wheels about once or twice a week depending on how much you skate (I do about 6-8 hours a day). (read more)

Venture Superlight Low trucks aren't good enough to recommend to a friend, but they are probably better for beginners. They are light, grind smooth, and you have a light, but good solid pair of trucks underneath you. But I wouldn't recommend these for anyone else because they grind down to fast, and then you start grinding the kingpin which causes it to strip where you cant loosen it up or take it off. Also, the kingpin gets weaker day by day from basic skating until the axle snaps off from... (read more)

The Venture Superlight Low is average. Its light, smooth skating, I havnt encountered many problems with it BUT I didn't grind with them, and my tricks didn't exceed a varial kickflip and ramping -> rock and roll and drop :p so euh... very great for beginners !!(after I reached a new level of skating I drove them into a river) (read more)

Written on: 27/02/2004 by bobbob

The Venture Superlight Low trucks were great when I first got them and lasted maybe around year. The problem is they're kind of weak. The base snapped on one truck and the nob opisite to the king pin snaped on the other even though it was a 1/2" thick. I would say the you should go for these tucks if you don't mind buying new ones every so often. But if you want trucks that last get something else. (read more)

these venture superlight lows are awsome trucks. they are unbelievably light. but if it's your first board or your first pair it could take a week or 2 to get used to them and be able to control them during ollies, they are also very durable. i do a lot of grinding on concrete curbs and ledges. that's all i have to say (read more)

Ventures are a nice truck to skate, easy to get used to, the weight is nice, aint to light, so it feels solid on the board, the rubbers wear in quite easy. I've had quite a few pairs of ventures. there proabably are nicer trucks out there, but I feel safe with ventures. whats with "they grind good"? dont all trucks grind? just add wax or go faster if they dont. I own a pair of the venture superlight lows. The trucks are great, I would say that they won't last long at grinding and the kingpin gets in the way, but that can be fixed by replacing the stock kingpin with a different one. Overall the trucks are very solid and work well. (read more)

I think your completely wrong dude. These are the best trucks i've ever had and they last forever for grinds. I've had mine for about a year and i havn't had to change anything about my trucks at all. I've done ledges off of stairs with these trucks and i've even tried to break them. No use, they are the best, they have the smoothest turning feel.

I agree w/ the comment on this review. I love Ventures. I had to buy Tensor, cuz my Local skateshop ::cough:: CD's SkateShop SUX ::cough:: didn't have any ventures left. Anyway, Ive had tensors for awhile and they BLOW GOATS. The kingpin nut stripped in 1 month. Come ON. Stick with Ventures or Thunder and never go wrong!

Ive had my pair of ventures about a year and a half now and i find them great, especialy for flip tricks the king pin sits a bit high so grinding becomes a problem but for there price they are a very good truck plus lots of pros ride them like Pat Duffy and nate kocaka so they must be good .

I would like to make a teeny comment about a comment left by a Matt from NYC about my shop not having any venture trucks in stock and my store sucking ::COUGH COUGH::.. Um... unfortunately stores do sometimes sell out of items which does not necessarily make them a bad shop. Store don't suck- only small minded customers that are extremely spoiled and cannot grasp the concept of items being popular enough to sell out suck. And I think they are pretty good trucks but Obviously you cannot make everyone happy.Even the crybaby ones!!
