I like the style of the Samsung A800 mobile phone. It's the smallest phone I've had, and I have had it for two years without any problems. It's curvy sleek design still knocks some of the newer models flat on their backs! The cool blue back-light is great in all lighting conditions, and I can see mine clearly in the light and dark. The Samsung A800 is a very neat little phone, conveniently small without losing any advantages of a bigger phone. Backlight good, tougher than it looks, just extremely practical.
The options menus could be better, and the battery is a piece of trash but so are most phone batteries.
Would recommend to anyone after a trendy but user-friendly phone. (read more)

The Samsung A800 is the worst phone I have ever owned! Ever since I got it 2 years ago I had problems with it! After sending 3 texts, "please wait" is displayed on the screen and it takes a while for the service to be found. Also whenever I made phonecalls to my friends and family, I could hear what they were saying but they could not hear me, although there was a good reception! The games on this phone are poor as they are just rubbish and you can't download or send ringtones or anything... (read more)

This is my second phone altogether and that is quite a few seeing as I am only young, but about the phone.
Well, excellent, phone very nice, size: couldn't be better. This is a 100 times better than my old 3210 (nokia) with a very nice screen. My friends also liked this phone. It comes with a wrist strap, a headphone set with microphone, manual, and various other things. Very good deal. As you can see from the pic it has got an arial, this can be replaced with a smaller one. I have had... (read more)

I've had my Samsung A800 phone for about 9months & my screen is starting to play up. The external display goes all funny and also sometimes when I open the phone the colours are the wrong way round. so what should be black is white and what is usually white is black! It's really annoying and also the lines of text go all funny! But only when it feels like it.
I took it back to the shop and they basically said it's wear and tear and there's nothing that can be done!
If any one can help me... (read more)

Well admittedly I was attracted to this phone for it's sleekness - and after reading various other reviews I tend to agree - and what is with the silly tune when you are deleting something? I must have annoyed many people on tubes and at bus stops with it. Yes, yes, the backlight may look fetching however try and fall asleep with it in your room - every five seconds or so you'll think a police car is outside your window. I'm just waiting for the flip cover to snap off - make sure you get a... (read more)

I got this Samsung A800 mobile phone way back in December 2002 at the time it was probably the smallest, slickest phone on the market but now it just doesn't make the grade.
The A800 still looks a nice phone apart from the disproportionate aerial and the fact that after a few months it starts to look battered (even if kept in a leather case). A nice feature is the crescent shaped service light that you can have flashing any colour you want.
When you open the phone you are greeted with a very... (read more)

The Samsung A800 is a great mobile phone for someone who doesn't want complicated technological features. I wouldn't say it was basic but it is deffinately a stunner! I as a teenager prefer a phone which is not too expensive as im a bit clumsey and have dropped a few phones in my time! The games are quite good but game number 2 is the best of them all. SO if your looking for a practical and not too dated phone i suggest you give the a800 a whirl! (read more)

I bought the Samsung A800 mobile phone just before christmas and with in 10 days the phone devloped a fault. I sent it back to the manufacture and they said that the damage was caused due to liquid ingress. Tried to get incontact with Virgin and Samsung with no luck. Due to this phone i have not been able to get in contact with my friends or business assisioctes. In my own opinion i would avoid this phone all together it cost me £120 and it is beyond repair. The Samsung A800 is a Super little phone, I'm used to Nokia's, which is why i'm finding it a little difficult navigating, getting used to a totally different way of using my phone. My previous phone was Nokia 7210, a brick by standards now, I've even given up colour screen and the camera to get my hands on this little baby, cool phone, when people see it they all want to touch, handle and play with it. I got this Samsung SGH A800 phone as a replacement for a stolen sony j70e. There is no major fault I would complain about, but having had the phone for 3 months I will be selling it and finding something better.

The Samsung A800 is a good little phone that works perfectly well. It does seem a bit slow though (almost as if it's processor isn't fast enough for the phone's software) and doesn't have the best menu system. MAIN problem is that if you pause for too long while writing a text message you get 'timed-out', the phone deletes the entire message and takes you back to the main menu. (read more)

The Samsung A800 is a good looking little fone which any1 would want once theyd seen it. I dont c how people cud say that its more complicated than the nokia - the layout is brilliant once u get used 2 it, altho it is hard if u hav just had a nokia. The only mega let down has to be the features. It hasn't got anythung more thats worth sayin than a 3310, apart from wap n polyphonic, neither of which r ne thing amazing. Bought the Samsung SGH-A800 mobile phone on the 30th of July 2003. Used it for 10 days, and on the 9th 0f August, after ending a phonecall, the text disappeared from my screen. The only thing working were the 2 backlights on the displays. The on/off button didn't work anymore, so I turned off the phone by taking off the battery. Upgraded my phone yesterday from a Nokia 3330 to the Samsung SGH A800, basically because I wanted a small, cute flip mobile phone with decent ringtones. First non-Nokia I've had, and I have to say so far so good (fingers crossed!). overall, the Samsung A800 is really tiny and fits almost anywhere. you'll find the opening and closing of the phone quite fascinating in the beginning, like me. i got this after reading the reviews on this site. Howcum none of you mentioned the dreadful reception?
Also the menus, after a Motorola V66i for gods sake!, are fiddly -never 'one touch', the ring tones all consist of stupid tunes (no actual ringtone that doesn't make you feel like a pleb in a meeting - and the one 'bell' tone that is acceptable is not loud enough to hear over the car stereo.
