Good Points: Great Surround sound, great looking, deep bass and overall great machine. Amp built into DVD player.
Bad Points: Machine gets quite hot, small hum when player is playing a dvd, can't really be noticed until you get up close to the player.
General comments: Overall great machine.
Does its job.
Amazing sound.
Player gets quite hot.
Small hum from player (not really noticeable).
If I was to get another one I would have the player in the open, they don't like tight fitting cabinets or surrounds, it needs a lot of air due to the amp being inside the player for the speakers.

Grundig GDV720 HT - Good product for the price if a little tacky with its silver box and mirrored front. But has a great deal of functionality and is easy to hack. Don't know if it will out NTSC. Had mine for over a year; great kit if a little warm.- Read Le bruton's review (80 words)

This Grundig GDV720 HT is a very good player, good value for money. I bought it 3 weeks ago and now enjoying superb sound quality. Picture quality is also more than avg. The only problem is it is not recognizing few DVDs. (All Region 2, bought from TESCO!!) Also it takes long time to load the DVD. Apart from that there is no problem. Overall very good system.- Read hemantb's review (117 words)

For the money you pay not a bad package.
There are good points and bad points as stated above but for people like myself that can't afford the best this is a good alternative, you get the dvd player and surround sound that you want for a reasonable price, if not for the buzzing noise would be very good.- Read Simon's review (106 words and 1 comment)

Bought a Grundig GDV720 HT 24 hours ago for a good price (£137.00 - demonstration model). This is my first venture into DVD and I have to say that I'm impressed with this machine. Top class picture. Incredible sound. Loads of options. A lot of kit for the money.- Read John's review (76 words)

For the price of this Grundig GDV720 HT, it is awesome. The picture and sound quality are both top notch. It plays all dvds from any region superbly, and it plays cd-r's with no comprimise in quality. I would highly recomend this to anyone looking for a quality budget home cinema system- Read Gman's review (60 words and 2 comments)

All in all a good unit, the surround sound is good quality, the only downside is that if you go too high 45+ then the sub loops out and rattles but when the max volume is 50 who would really listen to it that loud. Admittedly it doesn't want to play VCD's I make or certain DVD's like Who Wants to Be a Millionaire interactive game, but with a region free hack it seems to sort these problems. I love the look of the main unit, a mirrored front when off but when on a nice LCD display. The power on b ...- Read Sean Flanagan's review (233 words and 3 comments)

This Grundig GDV720 HT DVD Home Cinema System is a grim piece of kit. Even though a budget item, there is no excuse for the poor picture quality. The picture flickered - most noticeable on blue backgrounds, and lines passed across the picture. The DVD unit is rather crude, with a clunky on/off switch, and cheap looking finish. The DVD player buzzes constantly when switched on, and got rather warm after a time. On the plus side, the cinema sound quality was surprisingly good, and the range of fea ...- Read Hegen's review (128 words and 2 comments)
