The Crosman 2240 an excellent CO2 pistol. I bought this to shoot vermin such as grey squirrels rats and small mustelids caught in live traps ,( they can bite through leather gloves !)It's also useful for knocking down crows etc in large cage traps It fulfils this job perfectly. It's light to carry around and easy to use. It looks good , though I'm not too keen on the plastic breech and grips but I'm told they can be modded . It's accurate ( I use Bisley super field and can hit an empty 12 bore cartridge at 10 yds 7 out of 10 shots )and I get about 45 shots from each CO2 cartridge. My only gripe is the price here in the UK when you can buy this for less than half the price in the country of manufacture.

I got this Crosman 2240 pistol a week and a half ago. As soon as I pulled it out of the box I noticed it had a good heft to it. I put co2 in it and started shooting. I noticed it had a nice pop and a little bit of a jump to it. From about 10yards I hit a pop can every time. It goes all the way through a can and then some. It has been cold where I live and im not getting as many shots per co2 canister as I should. But I just hold my hand around the co2 tube. I noticed that once the co2 gets low t ...

Well, I bought one. Based on what I read here, it was a no brainer. Since childhood, I've have always leaned towards Crosman products. Now, later in life, the product is not nearly as well built as it used to be. Enter the Crosman 2240 CO2 pistol. I picked this up today for some general target shooting. Right out of the package it was shooting great. Adjusted the sights for windage to bring the shots left, and she was dead on. My basement is small, so I only had a distance of 12 feet from ...

Will shoot through 1/4 inch particle board with ease. This gun has decent power in stock form and is reasonably cheap in price. Many mods available.
None for the price a great deal for a 22 cal air pistol

Great target practice air gun. Also useful for shooting over the heads of bears in my yard, the noise alone runs them off. Stray dogs too, bent on grabbing one of my cats. I use ammo which would not penitrate an animal's skin, and when I use my 2240 to scare them off from going after my pets, no physical harm will come to them. I enjoy seeing the bears, and only use my gun when they do not turn around and leave when they see me.

I purchased two of these so I could learn to modify the gun, using the 2ed gun for spare parts. The gun is simple and so much fun to soup up. It's a real CAT KILLER (ferrel cats only). Longer barrel, made better grips, reworked the valve, red dot sight, and more. Topped out at 575 fps @ 85 degrees. I'm loving it.

My 2240 is technically a 1740 as it has been converted down from .22 to .177.
Very good gun still though, 10" barrel etc
accurate and sufficiently powerful for pest control up to 20 metres

This pistol is very good for anybody. The gun itself is really easy to mod and easy to disassemble also since i use the predator pellets their very accurate and deadly to any small game animal. There are no bad points

Love this gun, i put a 5.5" custom made compensator on it, and just recieved a crosman shoulder stock for it for it. Right now im waiting to recieve my scope mounts in the mail. Its very accurate and powerful, perfect for hunting or target practice. I dont see any real flaws in this gun. If your trying to take off the front sight but having trouble try boiling some water and dipping the sight into it, this should expand the plastic making it alot easier to remove the sight. If your looking for a ...

The Crosman 2240 is one of the best pistols out there. It's a single shot, bolt action co2 pistol. In stock form it produces velocities in the 460 fps range. While this may not seem like much, keep in mind that this is in .22 caliber. It is one of the only pistols that are capable of hunting. The greatest thing about this pistol, is that it is one of the most hopped up pistols on the market if not the most, and therefore, there are tons of upgrade parts for it.

I ordered my pistol from the C ...

The Crosman 2240 is a accurate powerful gun. I don't think you will find a pistol as powerful in this price range - $80 CDN. There are others as fast as it but not as powerful because it shoots a heavier .22 cal pellet. The 2240 shoots a 14.3 gr. pellet at 460 fps = 6.72 foot pounds you may find other pellet pistols shoot as high as 523 fps but only in .177. A 7.9 gr .177 cal pellet going 525 fps has 4.84 foot pounds, that is a difference of 1.88 foot pounds or 38%. I would consider that signifi ...

This was my first pellet gun and it was a good choice for that. I got it when I was about ten and over the last couple years have wanted to modify it and the 2240 is perfect for that. There is so many different mod you can do so easily such as getting a longer barrel a stronger hammer spring more efficient valves longer bolt(bolt probe) stocks... and the list goes on and on
I made a stock for mine out of ply wood made to look like the 2250 one but its not made of crappy plastic. Then i got a 2 ...

I bought this pistol with the plan of modding it into something better. Ordered some hardwood target grips and polished the trigger sear. Compressed the trigger spring in vise and ended up with a smooth 2 pound trigger. Plastic breech worked ok, but will change to steel breech and extended bolt probe soon. It is quite accurate out of the box but is hard to sight in with its crude rear sight. Shot high out of box, so glued some weedwacker line, on top of front sight. Great little gun and fun to p ...

I just received the Crosman 2240. It is a single shot, co2 gas operated pistol. I just had shot 100 pellets with it. It accurate enough for general target shooting. It is more powerful than my Daisy 622x (22cal) pellet pistol.

The 2240 is a remarkable gun to still be offered in this PC bull crap world. Strong shooter, and accurate. I was able to hit small pill bottle from 30 feet away fairly easily.
I own 2 of these pistols and am customizing each one differently.
What is great is the interchangability of the 2240, 2250, and 2260. All kinds of custom parts are avaliable. Crosman has gotten into the act by offering custom grips, breeches, and other stuff. The stock grips are ok and worth the initial purchase price, ...

Good power, good accuracy and affordable. If you are into shooting one hole groups at 33 ft, forget it. If you want a great plinking and small game gun, get one.

I have two of these (for the price) I couldn't resist. One is for use and one customized for show and future use. I changed out the grips; changed the plastic breech to a Crosman steel breech; changed the trigger spring; all this for less than $100.00. This gun shoots straight and has great knock down power for small game hunting. I've been target shooting for a couple of months with the 2240 and Bulls eyes are easy with a scope, good without.
