Starlet gt 0-100 in 8,3 seconds stock and the Punto gt 0-100 7,8 seconds stock both, japanese never learnt how to use the turbo power in good into the RPM range, and the starlet it's very very ugly and unsafe car, the punto was more fast only with 8 valves, people just repeat things that repeat japaneses, the car never was fast than european cars in the same time, stop to repeat lies.

i have 2 gt's a 92 and a 94...... the 92 is running on 1.4 boost and has fuel controller, power fc, fuel pump , injectors, conrods , pistons, crankshaft, camshafts, fmic, actuator, exhaust, induction kit, port and polished head, and much more and is running 300bhp. it is easy to find parts with little money and insurance is cheap,so is tax,,,,,, out of a small car you can get great horsepower for your money

Awesome car!!!!! No complaints so far. Very fast!!! Even with my mega sound system still can match the acceleration of my friends BMW!!! Nothing really bad about it.... though it could be a bit bigger.

Toyota Starlet 1.4 GT Turbo 16v. Killer of a car I'd love to own 1 of my own. The output of the engine is impeccable, especially when the car is so light. Recommended car for those who love a tight, nippy ride. Amazing little car so can't really find any bad points.

My 91gt Toyota Starlet has HDi front mount kit, tail 38mm waste gate, gizmo fcd, 2 and half inch exhaust and a steel exhaust manifold with a ct9, kings and kybs, full body kit, runs a boost tap boosting 14psi no fueling mods but runs mint goes of the clock in 3rd gear I ' m on my second motor first 1 run 14psi for 2 years till the turbo itself first motor still sweet as but got a low kms engine so put that instead soon will be running a t3/t4 turbo and a link computer and fueling mods its my wifes car and she loves it to death.

I love my 95 Gt.... bought it for a song around 18 months ago, needed work but I gave it full attention and now its mint... (Well should I say WAS as I took it off the road so I can get it ready for when I have 1 years ncb)
Did quite a lot to it, plans now are1.3 bar on gt25 hybrid, fueling mods only, then td04 at 1.3 bar on stock management and stock internals and just fueling mods, then 1.8 bar on forged and management... should be quite stupid and pretty unreliable
Handling mods too of course, and brakes maybe but I don ' t want to ditch my 14s...

I purchased a 93 squarelamp Toyota Starlet GT 3years ago with intention to track it but it was that good I decided to multi task and use it everyday... It had done 150k kilometres and the turbo seals decided to go (It was running higher boost with upgraded bits here and there) so it was going to give up sooner or later. I upgraded my turbo brakes coilovers etc and its amazing. Yeah it doesn't have the low down grunt of a big engine but once they hit boost they are really quick. The reliablity was that good that my wife sold her beloved Golf VR6 so she could get one too.
The welcoming forums dedicated to the starlets i.e Ukstarletclub - toyotagtturbo.com have all the information an owner will ever need if not the members are quick to react and help.
My wifes car was recorded on a damp day with a full boot and a full tank of fuel to do 0-60 in 7.2seconds which for a car 14years old ain't shy especially for a 1.3(1332cc). Mine is modified highly and is recorded at 5.6seconds.
We travel to cornwall twice a year on holiday with 2 adults a child and a medium size dog so they are a useable family car too.
We as a family couldn't say much more things about them you look after it and it will be a great car.

Very fast and reliable car. Skill is required in order to be driven at the edge of its possibilities.

This car is an animal, not many half decent cars can keep up with the staggering 0-60 time of 6.9s for the EP82 which is identical to the 0-60 of a BMW 330ci. The Toyota Starlet GT is also easily tunable and with a resonable amount of money spent on good aftermarket parts you could be running around 180bhp with 1 bar boost, which let me tell you form my own experience is a lot and provides serious acceleration. You will pick up a good condition EP82 with a few stage 1 mods such as filter, exhaust as well as alloys and uprated springs for around £3500 in the current market, which is a BARGAIN for what you get!

The Toyota Starlet 1.4 GT is the best car I have ever owned so far
written by mathew on 09/11/2007
I have had my starlet for 2 years now, and i can tell you driving this car is a thrill. Whenever you switch the turbo to high, it simply jerks, picking a thrilling speed. I always have friends asking me what make of a car is this. It doesn't look very new, but its an authority on the road. Please Note: This speed isn't for starters as the car isn't very stable at high speed. You need yo get used to driving it before you try the high turbo option. SOBER DRIVERS ONLY!!!

I've only had the car 3 months and I love it! I'm really picky when it comes to cars but this one is great! Mine's in a bright white and everywhere I? go people just stare at it, it's mad! Just the car for a young girl racer like me. I've only got 1 years no claims on my insurance and I'm still only paying £600, well cheap on petrol for how much you can rag it.
If you want to be different then get one of these beauties! Otherwise just stick to your everyday Corsa!

Owned my car for 2 years and I can say after queuing most of the top hot hatches this car is way up there with Evo STi GT-R... Now maybe not in performance but if you take into account the low running costs 311 + km to £20.00 on low boost. The engine and box is bullet proof. No worries there. Wheel bearings do go often at £50.00 a time. Parts do cost and best place to find them is the online owners clubs.
Future Classic. Go make the investment.

I own the Toyota Galanza V the replacement to the Toyota Starlet GT which basically is exactly the same but has face lift and nicer body kit and other styling changes. The Galanza V is the last of the Starlet GTS and are P to S reg I think I'm not fully sure on that. Mine is a S reg, there maybe T reg Galanza VS. I have owned the car for a no of years, it's silver has 45k miles on the clock and had 283bhp when it was last put on the rollers which was last year. The engine spec is huge, very huge and this is all from its 1.3 turbo lump. People think I'm mad when they hear how much I paid for the car, 9 grand, but that was 4 years ago and it had 21k miles then and was jus 4yrs old and stil had 242bhp. I have managed 41bhp more and only 24k miles extra in 4yrs.I don't drive it to much as I own a Corsa gsi as well and drive that a lot. It's not just the bhp that makes this car so fast, it's lightweight, as a much more stronger, better car than a Nova it still weighs almost the same. 0-60 is 6.8 secs standard with 133bhp. Having almost 300bhp in such a small car is a nice feeling. Oh yeah anyone reading this don't get me wrong its not always bhp torque is what really makes a car fly, ie Skoda Fabia VRS. I recomend the Toyota Starlet or Galanza V to anyone. Go for the higher priced rarer Galanza V if u can afford it as it looks better. But the GT still looks good as the imports miles on the clock is fairly low.

Written on: 07/01/2007
The car had a larger turbo fitted, bigger intercooler, all silicon hoses, hks air filter, hks stainless steel manifold and full hks stainless steel exhaust system, decat, skimed head, hks sparkplugs, performance sparkleads, enlarged radiator, superchip, lightweight triple clutch, lightweight flywheel, modified fueling system, mobil 1 oil, uprated drive shafts and it's run on Optimax fuel only.
