Good Points: Sometimes an album comes along completely at odds with the general movement of music, as Nirvana and there comtempories were evoking feelings of desperation admid cat howling feedback. GLB we providing a far lusher and varied landscape for their tales. Almost like another world - it's familiar but alien and at first the sheer variety of musical styles is slightly baffling, on repeated listens though, you are left with the feeling of discovering something truly special and timeless.
Bad Points: Umm...well one track Grace is a little grating but that's as far as any kind of critisim can be levelled here. It really is almost flawless as far as debuts go.
General comments: Grant Lee Buffalo's whole catalogue is one long seemless journey. 'Fuzzy' is the place to start. Pick this up first, get in your car on a barmy summers evening and just drive to the nearest desert. This is clearly difficult in Southern England but i assure you if you aim high the GLB will get you there, even on the M25.
