Can somebody please help. My Land Cruiser is 10 years old and I love it. A problem I have at the moment is , I can be driving along and suddenly the engine management light appears and I lose power to the poiny where my car will only travel at around 20mph with very little revs. I stop, turn the ignition key off, turn the ignition key on and the management light goes off and I am back to full power, If anyone has experienced this I would be glad to hear from you. Thank you… Read Full Review

My current Amazon is My second Amazon which has covered 117000 basically trouble free miles. The only issues I have had have been withe air conditioning system which has been irritating also expensive to fix.it may not be as fashionable as a Range Rover, but the vehicle is ultra reliable with a classic statesman like look.I can,y think of anything I don't like about the vehicle.it tows my large caravan fully loaded with ease.I would recommend this vehicle to any potential purchaser as the best… Read Full Review

We run three toyota Amazon 4.2td pulling Horse Ambulances all over the country each doing 30--70 thousand miles a year all towing. Yes they will wear parts out but our lowest mileage one has 224000 . they are extreamly
reliable very low depreciation and safe when fully loaded. wouldn't consider other makes now… Read Full Review

Massive, fairly economical (4,2 TD), secure family wagon. "Impossible" to get stuck. Perfect during Norwegian winters. Very reliable (except Torque Converter until mid 2001). I think it's the best car I've owned (amongst about 50 cars). Comfortable to drive, safe in a collision, perfect view also for kids. Highly recommended… Read Full Review

The Toyota Land Cruiser Amazon 4.2 TD is one of the finest 4x4's one could ever purchase!
One only has to look in countries like the Far East and most of all in Africa. The owners in these countries are very hard on their vehicles driving them anywhere with out a second thought, even to a point as using them to plough their farm field in places in Africa. They are not the best at keeping them regularly serviced and clean, but they never seem to give up, just keep going. They out preform the… Read Full Review

Toyota extended guarantee is not clear as they make a big claim that you will have no worries once bought as states that it is as good as the original guarantee. They also argued about repairs done under it in the first year of their guarantee paid for under the Toyota Approved Used Car scheme:Complete peace of mind 12 months Toyota Warranty RAC Roadside Assistance for one year Pre-delivery check Mileage Guarantee* 30 day exchange plan Extended Warranty Claims: A Toyota warranty is an… Read Full Review

I am on my 3rd Landcruiser. The last one was a 1990 model VX which I had from new. It was 17yrs and had done 180000 mls. My recent one is a 2003 Amazon with a manual box.
I do a lot of towing so I want a vehicle which is up to its job. I would not recomend this vehicle as a family car replacement but if your requirements are for a 4X4 then this is the car for you.
My Amazon has a common rail diesel engine fitted and does around 25mpg.
Would I buy another one? - yes providing I am still arouind… Read Full Review

The Toyota Land Cruiser Amazon is exceptionally spacious and comfortable but even the 2006 model looks dated alongside a Range Rover, Discovery 3, Merc ML, or most other modern 4x4's to be honest. Where it leaves the competition standing is in reliability and durability. Treat other 4x4's hard, perhaps with the exclusion of Nissan, and they will break. The Amazon won't.
To me, the most attractive 7-seat alternative is the Discovery 3 HSE which has been brilliantly thought out and has a… Read Full Review

The Toyota Land Cruiser Amazon 4.2 TD 4x4 copes well with anything you throw at it. Surprisingly sprightly considering its bulk. Engine noisy and auto 'box doesn't change particularly smoothly under hard acceleration.
I had a Mitsubishi Shogun (Pajero) previously and the Toyota is in a different league… Read Full Review

I use this Toyota Land Cruiser Amazon 4.2 TD 4x4 for every day use, as well as a tug for our twin axle caravan. We have had many large 4x4's over the last 10 years for towing, but my Amazon is the best by far. Our first Amazon covered 196000 without any problems at all. Great engines but change the oil every 4000 miles… Read Full Review

Well were do I begin. I have the 50th Anniversary VX Toyota Land Cruiser. I brought it just on two years ago. It has the Sat Nav which is nice and big screen and a very pretty voice that tells you were to go. I have a reverse bleep on it that is a must for this big brute when you are backing back near walls. Cruise control heater and cool control all touch screen so you don't need to fiddle with buttons. I would say to any one that this may bee expensive to pay, not the most expensive one… Read Full Review
