Most reliable car I have ever had. Yeah it isnt the best looking, or the most confortable car to drive or be a passinger in but, i have done over 20k miles in the last year hard miles round town and all i have had to change is the starter motor and the car has done 110k so expected. Reliable fast on the motor way excellent work horse. Engine is nosy but will take one hell of a hammring. Will do at least 200k if serviced regulary. Insurance does vary from under £300 fully comprehensive and parts are easy to obtain, as is servicing. If I were to be asked for my ideal extras, they would be an adjustable...

I have a 100K milage model (6 years) and have experienced problems with the rear boot (as a family we use it quite a bit) - the loom wire breaks in the hinge rubber boot that joins the main body to the boot lid and causes shorting, which plays havoc with things such as central locking and immobiliser.

Overall the Rover 200 SDi is an economical, comfortable and reliable car, any bad points are minor i.e. the small boot is comparable in size with all of it's competitors in the market....
