Halo Combat Evolved is an absolutely amazing game. It has the best graphics when it was released, and it still upholds that title. I bought Halo. Combat Evolved about 3 years ago and I still haven't got tired of it. If you are looking for a great science fiction shooting game, then this is the game for you. There are so many good points about the game, for example, the levels are so big and there is constantly battles to be fought, meaning you are always kept on your feet. The plot revolves... What can I say that has not already been said. This game has been the mark of excellence to which other FPS games aspire to be. Many claim, few deliver the action and story that the original HALO lays out.
For the first 2-3 years of the XBOX consoles' life, HALO was the reason to own XBOX.
In my opinion, Halo still has grip on me now that it had when it was new.
A must own for any gamer!!!!

Halo Combat Evolved is probably the best shooting game for any console EVER made. The gameplay is just amazing with the level maps being massive and so much for you to do shoot, steal and have fun with.
If you haven't already bought this game, I don't know why. Please do yourself a favour and get this game which turns the gaming industry upside down!

I never really played shoot em ups but my friend got me a deal on Halo Combat Evolved when I first brought my X box. I saved this game till last out of my bunch but when I started to play it I couldn't put it down. This is a must have game if you want an X box or have one. The graphics are quality the multiplayer is very competitive, you get to use all sorts of weapons alien weapons included. The story is great makes me wanna shoot some of those aliens myself. The only reason I purchased an Xbox was for the Halo Combat Evolved game, and it was the first game I played and completed.
The graphics are stunning. The game play is smooth and it kept me interested right to the end.
If you want a reason to buy an XBox, Halo is that reason!

Halo is the most phenomenal game for the Xbox gaming system. Being one of the first games ever created for the Xbox, it remains to be the best shooter available for any console. Halo Combat Evolved made me get an Xbox, and I have had the box and this game since it popped its head up in the UK gaming world, I have bought more games since obviously, but I will never sell or swap Halo, even after the Xbox dies and go to heaven, hopefully this will never happen!!

Halo Combat Evolved is one of the best games every made. Awesome graphics, brilliant AI, Stunning gameplay, lots of nice ideas. Halo is totally captivating and has a top notch storyline - a rarity in this day and age! Give Halo a try and you will not be disappointed. Truly a modern masterpiece. (read more)

Halo Combat Evolved - This is and will be the best game ever to come out on any platform even the coming PS3 because there is only one reason why, because it's a classic. The graphics are amazing, the A.I is pretty good and the sound quality is amazing. If you have the chance, hook this up to your stereo and put the bass on the highest and it feels amazing, especially if you're playing on a big screen TV.
The co-op multipayer is amazing me and my mate have completed it about 5 times because...

I love this game! Halo Combat Evolved is a good reason to go out and spend the money on an X-Box. I love the multiplayer mode because it is a lot like an arena game verses an adventure (atleast the multiplayer is). It also has a great co-op feature that really makes the game tons better. There is no better game out there for the X-Box. I will be one of the people out there sleeping in front of the store before it opens just to be the first one in line for Halo 2. (read more)

Halo is probably the best game I have ever played. It has magnificent graphics, good story, huge levels and some great music in campaign mode. Also it has a sense that you're actually in the fray. The multiplayer is extremely addictive and extremely fun and has lots of different game modes. I think the only annoying thing is a lot of repetitiveness from the flood, but everything else just blows that away. Halo 2 will boast better graphics, weapons story and probably best of all Xbox Live.... (read more)

Overall I couldn't put this game down. Even when I was trying to sleep I was thinking and dreaming about this game. The graphics were flawless without any seems or glitches that i have spotted so far.(and I've been playing this game since it came out.) Even thought this game is rated Mature kids should have all rights to play this game. The violence is mild, the language is fine if you just lower the volume, but all in all kids from ages 8 and up because everyone should be able toplay this... (read more)

I'm very specific about first person shooters, they have to be damn good to get me hooked. Halo did this, I've been in the Army and a marksmanship squad, this game is accurate to say the least - the sniper rifle's 50 cal bullet swirl and strike on target effect are great.
There's so much good about it are shoudn't eat up my whole day writing, so here are things that it lacks.

The graphics are definetly part of the good points of HALO. While playing this game, every single bullet really shows on the different materials in the games, for example: In snow, on the groung, on walls etc. You can even write on some of the landscapes!!! Then, I like the way it is very real, e.g. the person doesn't carry 50 guns around like in James Bond: Nightfire, but 2 at maximum. Who knows, this might happen in 500 years. Without a shadow of a doubt this is one of the best games on the xbox. It is up there with 'best game ever made' and I would gladly argue in its favour for that status. It is the only xbox game I have that is still regularly played long after it has been completed (about 18 months after it was bought and 6 months after it was finally completed on the hardest skill setting). A great game. Levels are hard enough to make it a challenge to beat but yet not so hard thats it's impossible. The graphics are off the walls, and the cinematics are excellent. Although there are few guns to choose from, this is a must have xbox game. (read more)

Just wanted to add something...you said the cinematics are great...There are no cenimatics in HALO they are all scripts, but i guess thats a compliment to the game..the game itself looks like a cinematic..This IS the best game ever made by the way.
<br>P.S.-Why did you give it a 9/10..why not a 10/10? I don't know of any game with better graphics..
