For those who are not familiar with Metallica, Reload is a great album with some generic hard rock songs.
It's basically an alternative to trash.
However, in my opinion not nearly as good as "Master of puppets" or the "Black album".
Good songs-
Fuel, Devil's dance, The memory remains, Fixxer
Meh songs-
All of the others

Listen to each song on Reload and please do not compare this to any of their other albums. Don't say it's not as good as the black album, because its not, it's different and it's better in some ways, mainly being the lyrics to some songs. Don't go with everyone else opinion and go buy this album, because if you don't give this a chance then you are going to miss out on some of the most important work and songs that Metallica has written.- Read link667's review (387 words)

Over all it is a good Hard Rock album, so do not expect anything else. The days of Metallica creating a heavy metal/thrash album seem over.- Read nimagpie's review (47 words)

I only listen to four songs off of this album and they are all only good, not great. For Metallica it is a failed effort, but still good listening compared to other bands. Metallica does mature and adopted and more composed sound. James's voice continues to develop, but he sings in a strange exaggerated way which detracts from the quality of songs. Average at best.
Best songs: Fuel, Devil's Dance, The Unforgiven II and The Memory Remains
Worst songs: all the others- Read hickc's review (172 words)
