Don't believe all you read? I have had this product for a quite a while (>3 years) and YES it takes a time to get used to its quirks and to find or 'make' the profile you want? But you can modify any one of the existing profiles to exactly match your needs. If there is a problem that I would have liked fixed (highly unlikely since Fellowes/Neato do not support it any longer!) is that you cannot change the SPACING BETWEEN a '2-up' sheet. But I got around this by printing a TOP set up one way then REVERSING the sheets and printing the TOP set again! Works fine!! There are probably better products sround somewhere but I haven't found them yet?? Any suggestions? Tony

There is only one reason to have this software and that's to coordinate with the corresponding NEATO label sheets. I spent hours trying to find the template that matched the label sheets I bought to no avail. D Don't waste your money. See if you can load previous versions of MediaFace, you'll be happy you did and will have $15 more dollars in your pocket.

The instructions lacked detail. There were no instructions on how to use the blue plastic item that was supposed to help you put the labels on

Hi everyone,
I bought the kit and indeed was a disappointment. Software is expensive and with bugs. The print quality even with the watermarks on it is poor, taking in consideration the quality of the uploaded photo.
Solution: make you label in PhotoShop. I downloaded the US template and made a A4 version of it. If you need a copy, please give me your email address and I'll send it to you, as I can't attach anything on this site.
Keep in mind that each printer is calibrated differently, which normally isn't an issue, but for printing a label it might result in blank areas. So before printing the label itself, just print the gray guidelines from the template and compare with your label sheet against the light. If there are adjustments to be made, just select all layers and move them to the correct place with the move tool. Reprint to be sure that they are now correct.
Don't forget to make these layer invisible when printing the actual layer.
cheers

Absolute garbage. One of the worst pieces of kit I've ever been daft enough to buy. The labels curled up when offered to the aplicator which meant they didnt line up with the disc and overlapped on one side or the other. I wasted 6 DVD's before I gave up on it. Definitely not fit for purpose and I'm going back to PCWorld to try and get my money back ! Wish me luck

The worst piece of software I have ever seen

I'm really horrified the sales assistant at PC World in Edinburgh, UK even recommended I waste precious money to buy the package of Neato labels. The pack clearly states that these are useable with Microsoft Word and Photoshop - but as other reviewers have found, there are no true A4 templates that work.
If you Google for the A4 templates, you find they are all US Letter size. And even then, the positioning to corner is completely off.
I'm sure the gold "Satisfaction Guaranteed" emblem on the packaging will offer me consumer protection!!! I'm taking the pack back to PC World tomorrow. It's a shame when an excellent PC retailer sells shoddy substandard product!

Well this kit includes almost all the labels needed to printed for a disc. However, the application that it recommends is not satisfactory. 1. It is not free. 2. Not user-friendly and 3. Has a lot of bugs.
But apart from this, they also have templates hidden on their website [www.neato.com]. So if you have purchased this package and could not find the templates for the labels, here they are: http://www.neato.com/TemplateDownloads.aspx
The templates on the above link are available in .PDF , .PSD and .DOC format. So I believe that it should not be a problem to design and print your own CD/DVD.

I cant believe the guy in the shop reccommended this as being easy for a beginner. There is no template and I am now left with a pack of cd labels and $25 out of pocket!

No template available for A4 CD Labels with core and spine. Fellowes CD labelling system is totally useless without these. Version 5.0.39 has the same bug. Avoid at all costs!

Don't waste your money attempting to save some money over buying another label, MS word does not have a template, the 4 euros I saved would cost me $25 to buy special software, in the end I threw the kit in the trash and bought another brand

Neato Fellowes DVD/CD Labeling System w/ MediaFace 4.0 have no open source templates that I can find for Word.

Fellowes, Neato Fellowes DVD/CD Labeling System w/ MediaFace 4.0 has to be the worst package I have ever used - it simply does not work and all you end up doing is wasting sheets of expensive labels just get the old good copy. Don't waste your money on this product!

As an IT consultant of >10 years experience I find this software utterly confusing, unreliable and badly written. I cannot urge people strongly enough to avoid this software.

Ease and Accuracy of results
Have used earlier system and was satisfied well, this upgrade is better! Well recommend Fellowes DVD/CD Labeling kit

It's about 70% there to a great complete package,
but considering the rest of the competition is only 10-2-% there,
this is the one of choice.
Even MS Word doesn't have a template downloadable for either the memorex or Fellows CD/DVD Labels that I've been able to find online.

I reluctantly got used to using this software in XP.
Recently I was forced to change to Vista. Thankfully I find there are no drivers available...
With printers now able to print directly onto DVD or CD
disks and inexpensive picture editors this software has gone past its sell by date.
My rating... a grudging 2, after all I did use it and got results!
