    Serge was more than just a dirty old man and irascible self publicist. He was a great singer and social observer with that rasping voice in the great French tradition.

    His songs are full of wit and the joy of life. This CD is a good overview of his career and works well as an introduction. It helps if you can understand French but it is not that important as the whole thing can be enjoyed anyway as the epitome of cool. Oui Oui!
