This phone is simply amazing. I have had my Nokia 8250 for over 3 years now and I haven't had a major problem what so ever. The battery life is still amazing and it's going strong!
This is probably the best non-colour screen phone ever made. The buttons are so soft and make browsing the menu an easy task. Of course this is an outdated model now but I can't ask for anything more from it. It continues to serve me well. I use the phone about 2-3 hours a day and send over 20 sms's a day. Never...

I bought the Nokia 8250 mobile phone simply for its design and shape. The 'butterfly' style keypad is unique and cute and the blue display screen...MARVELLOUS.I would say this was the phone that really marvelled everyone when it was released.Compared to the predecessor, the Nokia8210,this is a much solid phone and it's really nice.Yes,outdated now compared to MMS etc,but this phone certainly provided me with the best moments.Very nice and worth it.I love it! Like Sandra my Nokia 8250 Mobile Phone has locked up on 6. Initially tried their "support" and "customer service" via the Net - After filling in their support form it bounced advising the address didn't exist! Same result from customer service!!
Phoned Nokia and the support people are quite unhelpful and deny there's a problem despite referring to web sites that describe "freezing", "locked on 6, etc.
Nokia support is hopeless and appears that they are going through the motions of...

If you are about to buy a Nokia 8250 now then it wouldn't be a bad choice as you could probably get one for about $300-$400. If you don't mind buying a second hand phone then I would consider you look for a Nokia 6610/7210 which will cost you around $450. Then again if you like the looks of a phone and not the features then the Nokia 8250 would be a good choice. (read more)

Nice design but featurewise, not that impressive. If you compare this phone with Nokia 3310, the 3310 have better feature; longer sms supported, sms template, able to assign a ringtone to a phone number beside caller group, newer games and a lot cheaper. Besides 8250 is undoubtly small and sleek, the only advantage compared to 3310 is the infra-red. I would say, this handphone is not a value for money. You are actually buying for its design not functionality. (read more)

This phone is my third. I have had one from the 5*** series, one 3310 and finally a 8250.
I decided to buy it because I fell for its design, size and the fact that it has a composer feature.
I must admit that this is a phone for "adults" - by this I mean, it is for people who are not fussy about their mobiles or aren't looking at making the most of their mobile experience.
For example, I like SMS-ing friends. With 3310, I could just pick any of the readily available smiley's to add to the...

hi all. finally i had found a solution to solve this kinda virus:-
1. switch off the phone
2. take out the battery
3. take out the sim card
4. use another sim card to slot in to your phone
5. put back the battery
6. switch on your phone
7. repeat the step from 1 to 3
8. slot back your own sim card
9. repeat the step from 5 to 6
10. then now u can see the virus has been erased
Good luck! call me 6012-5849145 if you face any difficulty. thanks!

agreed on above points. one more thing, 8250's design's much better than 8210 in practical terms such as a more convex face, avoiding the LCD text corruption or blank out common to the 8210 with a tighter cover (i know this as i used to use an 8210 n many friends complained about the same thing) or having the "write messages" option right at the top of te messages menu. other details like the power button recessed into the cover make it look better. lucky for us in Asia the 8250's not much more expensive the the 8210.

I encountered the same problem as yours recently. The Nokia Care Centre told me that I have to wait 3-4 weeks for the parts to arrive. I was told by my friend that the Accord Distri Centre has the parts, so I went there last week to get them to replace the LCD. I waited for 2 hours for my phone and yet the cover was not fitted back correctly and they told me it is "normal". I insisted them to replace a cover. They did it but unwillingly and give me a cover with lots of marks and scratches on it! The reason is because my cover isn't a new one! I have insisted them to change another one, yup the one I am using now, but still have some minor scratches.

Hi. I live in Australia and the Nokia 8250 is available here quite readily. Originally, the phona was made for Asia only but due to the high demand in Asia, Nokia altered the phone for use in many other countries, including Australia.

I posted review earlier today - scrolling through other reviews it seems that there is something endemic to the Australian version in that every lousy review noticed is from Australia...!
