Good Points: None
Bad Points: Awful on/off switch. Battery life awful. Cheap & shoddy feel.
General comments: Initially the Kodak EasyShare was a good looking camera & with the Kodak name you expect a good quality product. Unfortunatally it is a cheap & shoddy camera with a terrible battery life. Something you would buy in the market place at a third of the price. In a word rubbish.

There are so many good cameras out there now, that to me it doesn't make sense to buy this one. Problems include: 1) the infamous lens cap issue i.e. it doesn't always stay on. 2)battery hog: I find it will last about a day and half of normal shooting, although the battery low indicator comes on about 1 hour after first use. 3)lag time between pressing the shutter release, and actually taking the picture, is really annoying if you are trying to do anything but take posed pictures. 4) In my opin ...- Read gshore's review (177 words)

I would not deal with P.C World again or buy another Kodak camera. I noticed an advert in the press the same week for a camera with the same spec at the same price they quoted for repair at £89.
I now have a Fuji S7000 camera that is excellent.- Read joe bloggs2's review (167 words)

I love this Kodak CX4300 digital camera. I've had mine for a year or so and never had a problem. My sons can use it with ease. Kodak's batteries dont last long but it likes rechargeables.
My only gripe is I now want it to take filters, be able to change lenses and basicaly give more control. I know i'm expecting too much but that's the only problem here :)
Great camera for everyday use though.- Read axis's review (99 words)

This Kodak CX4300 digital camera is excellent! The picture quality is phenomenal, my five year old son can easily take pictures with it, the batteries last forever, and the flash is really great too. Bought it at Best Buy as a refurb, and it has worked flawlessly since. I like the lens cover, and the slider power switch also works well for me. having to wait for the camera to take a picture, and waiting for it to process a picture can be a little frustrating, but the quality of the photos mo ...- Read kaleidoscope's review (125 words)

The Kodak CX4300 is an excellent digital camera for beginners. The cost being about one hundred and fifty dollars makes this an attractive price for people just getting into digital photography. At more then 3 megapixles it is a camera that exceeds most 35 mm cameras, and can be used to transfer the photos right into your computer and so much more.
I would have liked some optical zoom features, but for the price of the camera that is something that I would have gladly paid a bit more for. If ...- Read Marty's review (386 words)

Beware of this digital camera!!! My friend and I each bought a Kodak CX4300 in November of 2002. By the next summer, his could no longer take photos (the "eye" was broken, but all other functions worked). By the end of the summer, mine was randomly shutting off and on. At this point, it will only stay on if I keep my finger pressed against the "on" switch and hold it upright. Even when set down for uploading photos, it will shut off halfway through the upload and freeze the program.
I ...- Read RedRaven's review (155 words and 1 comment)

Kodak should promote the CX4300 Digital camera better. I got mine from Wal Mart online during the holidays of 2002 when they first came out and payed around 150.00 US dollars. That is half of what other 3.2 mp camera cost. This is an ideal camera for the beginner while at the same time getting high quality photos that will enlarge to 11" X 14". The only drawback is that you do need the docking station for the battery charger capability as well as the one step download to your computer. Probably ...- Read gtiz44's review (143 words)

This is a good overall camera. It does not have a lot of bells and whistles but for the price you can't beat it. The photos I print out on photo paper are great. No trouble with the lens cap but it would be great to have a automatic one but hey for the price I will make do. Buy this camera if you are on a budget and want great pictures. You will need a computer of course.- Read Eddy's review (216 words)

All in all i think that this camera represents excellent value for money, and if its a family camera you are after then this will more than meet any requirements. The camera however does have alot of weaknesses, which is a shame given its terrific resolution. For me personally a camera like this needs optical zoom, as using the digital zoom just ruins the photo quality (one of the main reason for buying this camera!). Also the user needs to allows approximately 30 seconds for processing between ...- Read reynard's review (143 words)

In general I'm satisfied with CX4300. It's light, easy to use and take ok pictures. But if you want to take more advanced pictures you will discover some of the cameras bad points. It does not store all your personal settings, i.e. if you want to use exposure compensation or select some other flash settings than auto, the camera goes back to default settings if you turn it off (or in some cases after one picture taken). The camera is not suitable if you are into nightshots (without flash). Bad l ...- Read Morris's review (240 words and 1 comment)

I bought this camera at a bargain in a big super market!I didnt ever imagine i could find a camera with 3.2mp resolution at only 200 euros + a free 16 mb mmc memmory. The pictures are great.Unfortunately there is no optical zoom which i soon realised that it was very necessary for me!Anyway if you want a camera for everyday use with really good quality pictures it 's more than excellent!Necessary also is a pack of rechargeable batteries because you 'll be surprised by the speed this device consum ...- Read markolenin's review (141 words)

This is a decent snapshot camera, but it was a limited run specifically designed for Walmart and a key feature was deliberately omitted: The OPTICAL ZOOM. The digital zoom is useless as it cuts right into the resolution which is what makes the camera so desirable in the first place.
This itself would not be a problem, but it seems Kodak has no plans whatever of producing an additional lens kit for telephoto or closeup which can make up for the zoom deficiency. The inherent wide angle of this ...- Read KAR's review (125 words)

If you're looking for a beginner's digital camera that costs less than $200, the Kodak CX4300 should be your choice. At 3.2 megapixels, the quality of the photos is incredible. I print out 8x10 photos on my Canon photo printer and they look like they came from a photolab. Downloading pictures to your computer is fast and easy, so you don't need to buy the Kodak Dock. After installing the software, simply plug your camera up to an included USB connector and turn your camera on. The software ...- Read JRed's review (212 words and 1 comment)

Ok , we were wandering around Walmart, and it looked attractive at the price for a camera to carry aroud. The first thing to say is it's weight, its not the portable brick that my Canon is. It takes great little shots, easy to use, and for the price we paid excellent value. Budding David Baileys apart, its a good allround fixed lens Camera.
My one Serious Gripe is... THE LENS CAP, this is a wonderful challenge to keep attached to the lens, but it is possible... and without the use of two yards ...- Read Magister's review (123 words)

This Kodak CX4300 digital camera shoots great shots. The pictures are extraordinary. My 640x480 Largan just didn't do it for me any more. Naturally I wanted the optical zoom. But I was in for more than $200 USD with 2.1 MP and any zoom. I only spent $154 for this one, 3.2 MP. It is light-weight compared to others. I want a camera, not a brick. I'll get some memory after the Christmas price decreases. Perhaps the most striking feature is ease of use. Although I am very technical, I detest difficu ...- Read Rubio's review (146 words)
