Cannot use the installation disk on eyestar mail as it asks for product code, cannot this find it anywhere on the box, or on the product. So will not let me progress. Went to Digital Dream L'Espion Xtra website, that is useless, especially as when you try to email them you just have a Web error

After installing the eyestar mail, what next? One is supposed to be able to use his l'espion Xtra as a web cam! This is not the case in my situation.

Firstly, I cannot get the software for the Digital Dream L Espion Xtra [0.3MP] Digital Camera installed on my computer. So I have been searching everywhere on the internet for help, or a driver that I can download. So far I have had no luck! I'm not particularly impressed with this little little piece of junk!

i bought the Digital Dream L Espion Xtra [0.3MP] digital camera in france and i have been happy with it so far. The only problem is that you can't see through the lens to take a picture is this the same with other people?

What a great looking little camera! It's really cheap for the service that it offers. It is the same size as a match box, fantastic!
I rigged the camera up, took a couple of pictures then went to upload them onto my computer.
I took care to install the software exactly as described in the computerised user manual (the paper instructions are pathetic) and hey presto, Error Code 10. I looked up this problem on the net and could find people complaining about it, but only one solution, which was on the manufacturer's website. I followed their instructions and it STILL WOULD NOT WORK!!!
I emailed their customer support after many hours of fidgetting with the drivers, and received 1 or 2 line replies saying "have you plugged it into the USB port?" and foolish things like that.
I have given up on this camera, it seems so good, yet I simply cannot get it to work and shall have to take it back :(

Try to switch the camera on first then plug in the USB cable - this will cause the cam to turn off then back on again.... now you should be able to upload the pics...i've yet to get the webcam to work...

Travelling here to St Lucia on an aid project I bought the L'Espion Xtra almost as an impulse purchase.........only £45. This is my first digital camera and the snaps are ideal for emailing to the family while I am here.
Delighted with the purchase, excellent value for money.

This is a great deal because it's not too expensive or hard to use. I would highly recommend this digital camera to anyone wanting to use it for a fun time and on holidays.

I couldn't get the software to load on my computer running Windows XP Pro. and an e-mail to the manufacturer elicited no reply.
<br>Another computer running Windows 98 SE accepted it OK and the picture quality was what I expected from a 300 kilopixel camera, i.e. sufficient for small prints.
<br>My only complaint was that the viewfinder was virtually unusable.
<br>
<br>Tesco readily exchanged the camera for another one of a different make which DOES work on Windows XP Pro.
