Didn't have any problems with this company as i paid the DD out every month and that was that. It was only until it came to having to cancel this policy that i had the trouble. I cancelled the policy due to loosing my driving licence (biggest mistake of my life), so I rang up Elephant. Being the person I am, I explained the situation in full (honestly) and told them MULTIPLE (roughly 4 or 5 times) that i didn't want to make a claim. Firstly I had a car incident - was not my fault but third party refused to accept blame - I was forced to take half the blame but they got it down to 30% for me. Being only 21 and having now 2 claims against me I was dreading my re newal price. I called elephant and without even asking for a price review they lowered my premium by over £500! First off you need to pay to speak to these jokers! Or email and wait! My experience here was I updated my policy I then got a re quote which was fine, I then got a letter explaining I hadn't sorted out the previous problem and that there would be an increase in my policy, which when looking at my breakdown already had the other increase. “Watch for the auto renewal”

I paid an annual fee for cover from a set date- to a set date. What I failed to notice was that the policy would autorenew and so you are covered even after the set date- without having paid a penny. Well, until that is you realise that the company retrospectively charge you and wack you with a bill! I was outraged as I'd already taken out another policy with another company. “Car Theft Claims Process”

“Brilliant service all round ”

I cannot speak highly enough of Elephant. I was involved in an accident, other driver at fault, and within less than 24 hours Elephant had settled the claim, arranged for the other insurers to repair my car, had spoken to witnesses and had made contact with passenger in my car to ensure they were ok. “High prices”

I have since cancelled my car insurance after discovering I had been paying twice as much then I should of been. All i wanted to do was change my car on my policy, they kept cutting me off when i was calling from a mobile at 15p per minute it took 3 phone calls and by the end of the third i had already made my mind up. Paid 3k for car insurance from them and was involved in a crash, their "approved repairer". Took over a month getting back to me and it came back broken! So it went back to them again took another month and guess what... Came back broke again so its now with a franchised repairer and they had the car sorted within a week, at my expense of course. I was with Elephant for just over a year, however the renewal was a good £300.00 more than all other companies so I decided to switch, unfortunately as they use an automatic renewal service I failed to cancel on the exact date. I cancelled three days later and was then bombarded with emials and threatening letters for a cancellation fee of £95.00. Maybe you should have called them to report the incident as a notification as per the terms and conditions of all car insurance policies. You do not have much to stand on, nor does your company if you do not do your due diligence first. Take some responsibility for how you dealt with it! I know these big companies can really tick people off, but what about people doing what they are supposed to in a crash??

“Inconsiderate, robbing company”

I have been a customer for a few years, never missed a monthly payment the whole time until I had to add an extra car onto my insurance for a week, I was told by the person I spoke to that £28 would be added to my monthly payment for this.
