I was insured with elephant and everything was fine for the first 4months. I couldn't able to pay my bill one month and they gave me two weeks notice and cancel my policy and charged me £70+ cancelation fees. I have emailed them regarding my situation and asked them to changed the payment date to a certain date and they lied saying they never received my email. they also said, I cann't continue insure with them unless i pay the £1200 the full amount for a new policy.

    I am not happy ...

Elephant insurance are very good if you don't make a claim. Their prices are good and the documents arrive promptly and are correct; hence my two stars as some insurers just don't seem to be able to get correct documents out. Also the folks you phone are UK based.
However I had to make a no-fault claim and here things went downhill fast. Elephant wasn't interested in repairing my car and claiming back the costs from the third party. Instead they said as it was a 'no-fault' claim, I MUST use thei ...

Elephant settled my claim and paid out so that I lost my excess even though I was hit up the back by a motorcycle that was on the wrong side of the road. They were much more interested in how economically they could settle the claim rather than who was in the right or wrong. They offered me no support and instructed the legal protection people to take no further action. Their customer care was very poor, not returning phomne calls. A most uncaring company. This company will not be on your side w ...

Elephant Car Insurance just sent me well over the £1100 renewal quote - topped from £600 last year. This was following I made claim after being hit by another vehicale. They sent me to their garage where they never gave me the quote, then charge me full excess £500 for max £350 job (I actualy got the 2 other quotes afterwards as I got really angry - I actually did not expect this to be even near to £500). They also lie to me claiming the demaged part was replaced wh ...

Sorry to say so but Elephant Car Insurance is a terrible company to do business with following an attempted theft of my car still awaiting settlement of claim, originally car had been sent for repair then this was halted due to cost of repair. car is still being held in storage (19 months) taking independent legal action to force action.

Elephant have always been very helpful whenever I have rung them up. I have had one of their advisors call me to try and sell me something extra, and he was a bit pushy but that's the only negative experience I've had. Their renewal price was a bit steep, but when I rang up with a lower quote from another company they matched it. Never had to claim though, so don't know how helpful/useful they are in that situation.

Elephant Car Insurance have been nothing but trouble! I used them to insure my first car. They have accused me of providing conflicting details and therefore increasing my premium a couple of weeks after I took it out. Having checked my details at the beginning and read them back to me, I corrected them on what was a typing error on the online quote provider. They later told me that they understood a certain detail was wrong and that I had never provided them with this information (which I must ...

If Elephant were the last insurance company on the planet, I would buy a bicycle. Elephant are cheap and it shows in every aspect of their business.
I had an accident two and a half years ago and it still isn't settled. I am now facing a court appearance to give evidence as to what happended. I have sent photos, diagrams and of course a claim form but still nothing has happened. Elephant are slow and incapable of settling anything hence it looks like am having to do it all myself.
    A lot of car i ...

It has been nearly one year since i had a small car accident on the car park at work with a taxi. Elephant only have been in contact with me at the begining for the claim like twice. Each time i called them and we would be cut off, they never rang me back. I also rang them to give important info that was never recorded in their computer. They also asked me 3 months later to send them my claim which i had done! Albanyassistance who works with them for the financial part isn't better. They keep as ...

I have had a nightmare with Elephant Car Insurance. I was initially happy being insured with them as the quote was competitive, but for all the hassle when a claim is made, this saving is not worth it. You do have to make so so many calls to get anything done. If you are insured with them and need to make a claim, use your own garage for the repair, not their 'approved' garage. This will be the best way to ensure that the repair is made to your desired specifications and not their garage's 'q ...

Wouldn't use Elephant (Along with Admiral & Diamond- all the same group) - average prices but didnt mind as was hoping I was paying for a good service. Albany Assistance deals with their claims and never come across anyone so useless. In excess of 70 phone calls due to unsafe hire car and still not changed and they dont care/have the power to do anything about it. Took 5 weeks for their garage to even produce a quote for the work to be done and their claims engineer cannot even start the car, ...

I found Elephant Car Insurance quite cheap for my 1.6 corsa and only been driving a year, was with there sister company admiral before. In may 2009 i had slight accident in a carpark involving me reversing into a wrongfully parked car and too my suprise when i told them about this accident they dropped my premium by over 200 pounds, being curious i asked on what reason was it dropped, they said because i wasn't to blame so therefor if i have another accident it more than likely not my fault agai ...

Obtained a quote for my Daughter on-line from Elephant Car Insurance (She is 18) and thought it must be an error as the quote was less than half what we had been paying over tghe past 12 months to the RAC. I called them to verify - and it was correct. No hidden clauses whatsoever! I have now placed our business with this company and we are saving £100/mnth! Seriously! Very helpful and thorough when calling this company based in Cardiff. I would certainly recommend calling them.

If you like wasting your time, and money, and enjoy being messed around then elephant is the right company for you. If not i would stay well away.

I had an crash in my car, and phoned them the same day to report it. They assured me that it was going to be sorted straight away. It wasn't untill a month later that i had to call them to find out what was happening, fortunatly i was still able to drive my car. They did not know then, so called me back the next day to tell me that my car had been w ...

Elephant gave me a competitive quote and I had no problems when dealing with a (no fault, no 3rd party to claim from) claim in December. I did have to take some of the initiative in speaking to garage etc. but work carried out quickly and courtesy car provided too.

My wife recently traded her old corsa in for a fairly new fiat punto and so i decided to try for additional quotes as i assumed that as the old car was traded in for scrap value the policy was null and void. I tried admiral multi car (a sister company of elephant) and this turned out £20 a month cheaper than with elephant. I write to tell Elephant Car Insurance the circumstances and they send letters demanding a total of £170 for 2 cars even though i wrote to cancel and took my ins ...

My car was damaged by a driver who then drove off. I have been told I am not entitled to a courtesy car (Although my policy doc says so), my insurance has been cancelled with half a days warning and the car has been written off despite no person coming to value the car. Ignore what they descibe as 'total loss' on the site, if the repairs come to more than 60% of the value they decide they claim it is written off.

I phoned to ask a question as whilst parallel parking I felt a light bump., the car behind me had a broken bumper which i thought maybe i did. Someone walking on the pavement said i just hit kerb but I left a note on the other car incase and phoned Elephant just to ask advise , they wouldn't answer my question and asked lots of questions and details instead and then said nothing more. The owner of the car phoned 1 hour later and said the bumper was already broken and i didnt do anything. I phone ...
