Bad Points: Witness is a bit boring, and the production meanders a little towards the end.
General comments: Sarah McLachlan hits the big time with "Surfacing" - some extremely accessible, beautiful and heart rendering songs - the rocky Sweet Surrender, the heart ache of I Love You and the craftsmanship of Angel where her and her piano let you know that life is going to get better. Sarah telling her man he's gotta get his stuff together on Building a Mystery before hitting home with the song I Love You - an ode that nails that awful sensation of puppy love we all experience at some point. Following quickly on to the superior Sweet Surrender and Adia she brings it back down for Angel, one of the most beautiful and joyful/melancholic songs ever to be made. She ends the album with the song Full of Grace and then the instrumental Last Dance which allows the listener to make their own ideas up of what's going on in the melody.
