I bought a Tim Minchin DVD for my Uncle's birthday. I needed fast delivery however was only given the generic terms 'standard' and 'expedited' - it would be handy to have a explanation of how long these are likely to take in the checkout where you select them. In the end I took a punt paid for the expedited delivery on the hope it would get there. Luckily it did! The DVD was far cheaper than the other sites I looked at (it was reduced and was about half the price of other sites) and there was the option for free delivery, so it was extremely price competitive. I got a dispatch email with tracking number when my item was sent out which was very handy. I may have just missed it but I didn't see anywhere to include a gift message, so I had to phone my uncle and let him know who it was from. Overall the service was fast, efficient and competitive. The only changes I would make would be improvements to the checkout process.

it came a week after release (was ordered in advance) but the item was brilliant. well packed and customer service refunded me 20% and were very helpful so cannot complain

I find the HMV website fun and easy to use, I've used them 12+ times and I don't care they lost an order, (even though it was my first one!)

Free shipping, easy to use site, I like you can add to the basket without going to it. Will use again and would recommend to friends.

HMV could improve on music dvds

If you have never been on the HMV site before, it can get confusing and infuriating. The Prices are reasonable, but the fact that it is hard to find the item that you want lowers the ratings. The checkout is definitely express, and there isn't much trouble there.

HMV is a well known high street store but slightly less well known is their online store at hmv.co.uk. Here you'll find a huge selection of CDs, videos, DVDs and games from various genres and various platforms.

In all honesty, HMV aren't the cheapest place on the net to find any of the above things but the site is worth a look because they frequently run special offers and hold frequent sales. Don't be fooled into thinking that even these offer the best prices though...at the moment for example, you get two charts CDs for £22 whih sounds great until you realise the price of chart Cds at somewhere like Cd-Wow.com is £8.99 all year round...! Still, shop smart and there are some bargains to be had here.

In terms of reliability etc. the site is easy to navigate, ordering is a breeze and delivery is great. No problems at all, just the price isn't always right...
