Good Points: Entering your payment details is a breeze!
Bad Points: I paid for a service I have not yet received.
General comments: The website takes your money up front. The instructions are non-existent and extremely frustrating. I paid for subscription and three single tracks, which I was unable to listen to it seems? I thought I could download a jukebox and retain the tracks I had purchased, with a view to burning them on to a DVD. This is not the case.~ I do not recommend HMV.co.uk and now I am out of pocket.

Three attempts to get the site to accept card details.
Then it forces its own download software on the poor unsuspecting customer.
Then the download software doesn't see the tracks that you just paid for until the fourth attempt.
I now know why the HMV logo is a DOG!
Just uninstalled the HMV software and run a registry cleaner to make sure.
Never going to use HMV download ever again.

Hmv is amazing what is wrong? Nothing. I think that hmv is excellent as there is cheap games "nearly" £10 cheaper than game and gamestation. Also to top it off great customer services!

HMV needs to improve it's download facilities. It is very hard to download and sometimes just won't let me download my music which I have tried to pay for with a valid credit card and all the necessary requirements in place and still it won't let me download. Very frustrating.

I ordered F1CE PS3 game for a christmas present 12th December 2007. Plenty of time you would think as it was in stock. HMV sent an email saying it had been shipped on the 15th December. Leading up to christmas I was unable to get past the "we know you are waiting" message on the customer services line only having waited 20mins.

It took 3 days before my order was acknowledged. I waited for 35 minutes to speak to someone in customer services. After several attempts and a message saying they were busy, and for me to ring back later. I did eventually get to speak to someone, and they told me that my order had been dispatched and that they had no idea when it would arrive.

I placed an order in December for 2 items, paying £20 by e-voucher, and the remainder on my debit card. One item showed as dispatched, the other as on order with supplier. Excellent. I would recommend. I used the Special Delivery option for my order as I was in a rush to receive the goods and HMV did exactly what they said on the tin: despatched within 24 hours and delivered the following morning!
Special Delivery only costs an Extra £5.00 and gives the piece of mind knowing that you will receive your order in good time.
Although the Free Delivery is also good but takes longer and it is not traceable!

I ordered a PlayStation 2 game from HMV on the 11th of November for a relatives birthday. This didn't arrive in time. After an enquiring email, they reassured my it was on order through the supplier, and it should hopefully be with me by Christmas. However, they offered for me to cancel if I wished. The website is good enough, and the prices are fantastic. Ever since last week it was my 100% complete satisfactory website. On December the 12th I ordered a DVD, This had still not arrived on the 21st, so I rang HMV up and waited on the phone for over 40 minutes (fair enough, it was near Christmas), then I got through to a man, and this is how our conversation went:

I ordered several CD's from HMV, after which the site said it had no stock and would have to order them. I cancelled the order and it went into 'awaiting confirmation' mode. Several days later it claimed to have sent one CD and charged my credit card. So far (several weeks later) I've received no CD's, no refund and no reply to emails. The ordering system is still saying 'awaiting confirmation', so I guess they are planning on taking more money soon.

Firstly I bought a CD last summer from HMV which after 2 months had not arrived (on order with supplier). I cancelled it and bought it off Ebay instead. The item is still on my account 'awaiting cancellation'.
Tried them again this February. Bought special offer DVD and normal price CD. CD arrived after about a week but to date (6 weeks later) no DVD as it is 'on order with supplier'. Website is still selling DVD (at normal price now) and states that it should be despatched within 10 days.

HMV wait until 14 days after they have dispatched the order before they look into why it hasn't arrived. Even then, if the parcel cannot be located, they won't just give you a refund and cancel the order. They give a refund (which might take 7 days), then they order the goods again, and charge you again - then you have to wait all over again for the delivery.
I am now at 20 days since placing the original order, and they are just getting around to ordering the goods again - this will probably ...

I have ordered rare CD's and cheap DVD series' through HMV before. All went fine.
They moved their operation to Guernsey, dangled a carrot of free delivery and two pounds off and a good bargain price... Disaster.

The album I ordered from HMV was not due out for a number of weeks on other web sites but HMV delivered it to me in a matter of days. It was due to be a Mother's Day present and I expected it to come next week, but to my delight it arrived early and in time for Mother's Day. Exc ellent. The album was originally £16.00 but was reduced to £8.99. Only a £ 1.00 delivery through Royal Mail. Very easy website to use.
