Sound quality on the Philips MC-10 micro system is decent enough for such a small unit. The sound output is 2 x 5 watt RMS (40 watt PMPO). The sound can be enhanced by the bass boost, incredible surround feature or by altering the preset graphic equalizer from optimal to jazz, rock or pop. The unit has a single mechanical cassette deck. The FM/AM/LW tuner has RDS which displays the station name on the display (i.e -radio 3). It also can be programmed to switch over to a news broadcast or travel broadcast when one is transmitted, so you never miss the latest goings-on. The Single Top loading CD player has the normal features, such as programmable memory, shuffle and repeat play. The unit also has Aux input so you can connect your Minidisc or Keyboard or Turntable or whatever to it. Other features are clock, sleep timer and headphone socket. Remote control supplied without batteries. The new model is MC110 and the older model was the MC118. All variations are basically the same unit with minor design alterations.
