Good Points: This shows U2 in an informal light.
For any fans who have not experienced U2 performing live, this DVD shows what you're missing...

Bad Points: Too much focus on U2's music. Maybe a few more individual interviews, particularly with Bono, would help this "rockumentary" further.

General comments: Filmed during the Joshua Tree tour of America, this documentary shows the Irish Rockers at what may be their most informal.
Integrating footage filmed during a recording session at the Point recording studio in Dublin, Sun Studio in Memphis (used by Jonny Cash and Elvis, amongst others), as well as footage recorded at concerts across the United States, this is a fascinating insight into one of the best known rock groups in the world today.
As well as their own material, cover versions of other artists' work is featured, in particular John Lennon's "Helter Skelter," which opens the DVD, as well as Bob Dylan's "All Along The Watchtower." Another interesting performance is their rendition of "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For," performed in a Harlem church and backed by a Gospel choir...
We also get to see the quartet in (albeit brief) interviews, like the one early in the DVD where they can't stop giggling, and other small snippets of interviews with bandmembers. Sadly, it looks like these brief clips were parts of much longer interviews which were edited.

Anyhow, this is a must for U2 fans. It compliments the album of the same name very nicely.
