Got a Toyota Hilux 2.5 d4d in october 08 very nice truck, drives well and i find it better than the nissan i had previously. Plenty of power and good towing . good on fuel.
Rattles and smokes like hell when I first start it in the morning but ok after a couple of minutes. Took it back to toyota garage and they said it needed new injectors and pipes waiting to have them fitted it has only done 3500 miles

22 12 08 just bought 3lt Toyota Hilux d-4d invincible with 4000mls on clock from main dealer. When cold, injectors rattle sounds like half of a socket set has been dropped in top end of engine, Toyota dealers said ths is normal for this vehicle. On further investigation their mechanics and lady on parts desk said many new 3lt d-4ds were coming back for new injectors and injector pipes replacing, the noise disappears after approx 10 mins of running, my vehicle has been on toyotas diognostics and ...

Dissapointed by the low ground clearance of the Toyota Hilux 2.5, small 15'' wheels and the build? The panel work is soft and has more plastic than older models. If you lean on the side of the truck the metal will bend? There is no cruise control which is good for long trips.
I believe the older model 03 was a better truck.
Hope the next model is better.

I currently own a Toyota Hilux Invincible 54 plate. I needed a reliable pick-up truck to suit my business needs, however, this vehicle has caused me nothing but grief since I bought it, which, coupled by pathetic customer care, has cost my company and I dearly. It started when I noticed an unusual clink from the propeller shaft was getting gradually louder. I immediately booked it in to be diagnosed by my local Toyota dealer, and was informed, firstly that nothing could be heard and as I grew ...

Anybody who wants a workhorse should know there is no better pick up than the Toyota Hilux 2.5 d4d 4x4. O.K so it does't have the performance of the Nissan Navara, or the syle of the Mitsubishi L200 but these will be dead while the Hilux will just be getting broken in.
Service intervals are great 10000 "intermediate" and 20000 "full" and the new D4D engine has loads of low down power and gives me between 35-40 mpg (leaves the others for dead) trundling around a private estate, Figures would be ...

These Toyota Hilux 2.5 d4d 4x4 vehicles are simply the best for offroad and site work. They do not break down, I've had 3 of these machines and they do not break, unlike its rivals. The D-4D powerplant is excellent. Fuel economy remains the same at all speeds. I have also been involved in a few accidents in these vehicles and they are as safe as houses. Buy one of these HI-LUXs. There just perfect.
