Good Points: Reliabilty, parking ability, accessories, style
Bad Points: Tendency to rust if neglected.
General comments: Introduced in the late 80's and discontinued in the early 90's the Lancia Y10 999CC was a small car that never sold as well as it should.
Sold as a 'luxury' small car the Y10 came with a surprisng amount of accessories for the time with electric windows and central locking almost standard accross the range. Most importantly, it was the first mainstream car to have an 'omega' rear axle to improve passenger comfort and aid drivability - a feature only recently copied by other manufacturers.
The Y10 has excellent visibility to the rear and is quite light making parking easy. It drives well and can keep up with modern traffic, especially the 1.3i and 1.1 turbo variants.
Legroom is great for such a small car and seats are comfortable - though the cloth can wear.
Above all it is a reliable car, even more so than most modern equivalents.
The best bit is the price - a good condition one will cost around £400.
