    Good Points: -accurate
    -light
    -reliable

Bad Points: semi auto setting would be nice

General comments: i have had my Crosman 781 for about 4 years, got it for christmas one year, and its definitely worth what i paid. It's a very light gun, but also very accurate and reliable!

Received this Crosman 781 gun for my 12th birthday. Still have it today (Yes, I've looked after it, so it is now 15 years old). DEADLY accurate, although back then it was only offered in smooth bore (Seems rather strange that it would be that accurate as a smooth bore, but let's just say anything within about 25 yards-you DON"T miss). I have never bothered to use a scope on it, just plain iron sights. Generally prefer the crossman copperhead pointed pellets, but the round heads work just abo ...

I have had my 781 for 5 years. I like it alot because it is quiet. I bought a tasco 4x20mm scope and mounted it on. It is hard to sight up without a bore sighter, but it is fun.

Good for shooting targets. Very low power and difficult aiming.

You cannot use this gun for both BB's and pellets. When you first get it, you have to pick if you want a pellet or BB gun, because BB's quickly remove the rifling in the barrel. So if you pick BB's, you get a fast loading, if inaccurate gun. If you pick pellets, you have to cock it, then advance the clip one, then pump. Its a lot more accurate that way, although still nowhere near a tackdriving match gun.

It's best to pick BB, as this gun doesn't have the power to be a good pellet rifle anywa ...

I've shot between 25 000 and 30 000 shots with this gun and it is still going strong. I can put a pellet through the same hole all day. (have a tasco scope). Anything past that and the grouping opens up.

I have had my gun for about 2 years now and it is still in great shape. The gun has excellent accuracy and i have shooting everything from grasshoppers to blackbirds with it. I shoot squirrels all the time and it takes one shot to the neck and they go down and then there is that twitching thing they do for bout 20 seconds. But all in all it is a great gun especally for begainers.

I had the chance to buy this as a first gun, but to my great regret i bought the Daisy grizzly instead. I'm no retailer; i mention this because both are sold at wal-mart for a comparable price. I do not own this gun, but i have had a month's worth of use. I traded my break-barrel for this, so we could size up for our next airgun purchase. First off, to my pleasure, the gun has a two stage trigger!!!! Yes! It is not a good trigger, mind you, but it is two stage. This means the trigger goes throug ...

I picked this air gun up at a Wal-Mart for about $60 CAD. Right from day one it performed as well the cost suggested it would (low accuracy and power). The gun fired good for about the first eight-hundred shots or so when I realized it was really starting to decrease in power. I Oiled it with the manuals suggested Pellgunoil, that seemed to help return power.
Accuracy is another thing. It produces mildly poor accuracy even for a bb rifle because of its lack of power. I was able to watch the ...

Although the Crosman 781 isn't very weather proof, I still think it has the power and accuracy for pest control and plinking bottles and cans. Overall the 781 is a great little gun that is good for all ages.

I got this Crosman 781 gun when I was 12. So far it has been very reliable and fun despite the fact that it looses power over time. Over the 2 year period I have had it it has lost around 10-15 fps and a little bit of accuracy. Other than that I would definitely recommend this gun for a beginner shooter. For me though I have moved up to a Beeman 1040 and still use my Crosman (because the Beeman kills squirls in 1 hit)

My dad got me a Crosman 781 for $60 a Canadian Tire 3 years ago, and the accuracy as well as power started deteriorating four months ago. The accuracy is now so unpredictable now, that the only way to hit something is by chance. When it was brand new, it was just fine for hunting.

In a word: a great beginner gun, but if you scope it and take care of it, an advanced shooter can have a good time with it. GREAT GUN!

Bought this Crosman 781 Air Rifle for my wife who needs a cheap, light, low powered, single pump gun.

This gun is light enough, but I found it more difficult to pump than cocking my R9. This may be a factory defect specific to this gun as a single pump pneumatic shouldn't be hard at all to pump, so please take my review with a grain of salt if you are thinking about buying this gun.

That is pretty much the only serious gripe I have about the 781. I shot about five rounds through it from ...

I purchased my Crosman 781 about 2 years ago, and so far it has been relatively reliable. Though lots of parts are made of plastic, the gun is fairly durable. The accuracy is decent for the first time shooter but, after you get familiar with the gun you know what to expect and your accuracy get better. The gun is very affordable, only $75 canadian. For all beginner shooters, this is a perfect gun for your shooting needs.

The Crosman 781 is the last airgun I bought. I bought it for about 60$ CAD. I really like this rifle for shooting cans and small pests.

    + Fast:
Because of its single pump mechanism I can shot at all 5 seconds with it. For a pump action rifle it's quite fast.

    + Cheap:
Here in Canada, it's hard to find an "overall not so bad" airgun under 100$ CAD. So for 60$ I think it's a pretty good choice. I would have paid 100$ for it without any problem.

    + Light:
Normally, I would have put that ...

I picked up the Crosman 781 as a step up from my old Daisy Buck. It's decent, but since buying it as a step up from 'toy' airguns, I realize that I didn't take a big enough step. Not that I regret buying it; it's just that the difference between it and my old gun was immediately noticeable, and it got me wanting something that's another step better. To elaborate:

    Pros:
The gun cost me $60 Canadian. I would have expected to pay at least $100 or more for a gun like this. Maybe that's not s ...

The Crosman 781 is a great gun for the price. I haven't had any problems with accuracy or maintanance in the year I've owned it.
It's powerful enough with a sungle pump to take out birds at c. 15 yds. and rabbits and squirrels at closer ranges. This was my first rifle and was easy to use and get accustomed to.
