Good Points: Dinning room food was good / excellent.
Overall the public areas are clean and well appointed.
    Ship entertainment was excellent.

Bad Points: The unacceptable situation with the Windjammer being closed.
Some of the "one man" shows were poor. Holiday camp or kids party stuff.
    Very poor sevice

General comments: We have just returned from a 14 day transatlantic cruise with Royal Caribbean on the Vision of the Seas. I was very annoyed when 14 days before leaving we were told that the Windjammer resturant would be closed for a complete overhaul. This project we found out had been planned back in November 08. Alternative arrangements were put in place. Using the dinning room for breakfast and lunch worked but was very cramped. The facilities at the poolside were dreadful. Trying to have an afternoon tea or coffee with the wind blowing or mild weather in the European waters was an unpleasent experience.

Royal Caribbean was disappointing. Very poor entertainment, early closing (2115)of windjammer restaurant so no night cuppa and biscuit. restaurant ran out of raisin bran, marmalade, morning orange juice and on several occasions we had to wait twenty to thirty minutes for butter. Fourteen nights cruising and only five nights of different shows. residents singers were poor. Went to bed by 2230 nightly as there was nothing to do except the casino after 2200hours. except discos or activity games. e ...

The layout of the ship was very easy to get around. The overall condition of the ship was very good. The stateroom staff was excellent as well as the dining room staff. The food was very good. I thought this ship was great. We have taken the Mexican Riviera cruise on both Carnival and Royal Caribbean and this was the best. Windjammer Grill staff wasn't quite as friendly as dining room. They weren't rude but sort of impersonal.

    Ship: Vision of the Seas
    Cruise Date: March 13, 2005

This was our 9th cruise, the first with RCI. The ship departed from LA and visited Cabo San Lucas, Mazatlan, and Puerto Vallarta. We booked an outside deck 2 aft Category I cabin.

    PRE-CRUISE

We arrived 2 days early to see the sights at Marina del Rey, Venice Beach, and Santa Monica. We decided to blow the wad and stayed at the Marriott MDR for $200/night, across the road from Mother's Beach. Our eighth floor room offered a grea ...
