NCL Cruises, Norwegian Wind - When I booked, Norwegian was advertising a $100 opn board credit on cruises booked before a certain date. I found out later this was applicable on all cruises except the one I chose. I was also guaranteed an upgrade if I booked early so I did. When I arrived at the check-in desk I was told the ship was full, no upgrades. You shouldn't advertise guaranteed if you can't provide it. The good points were definitly we were in hawaii! We were on our honeymoon and it was our first cruise. The ports of call were great, but being newlyweds, we could bearly afford the shore excursions that the whip offered. After we already paid for them, we saw that you could purchase them on shore for at least half the price!! Overall we did not care for The Norwegian Wind, but we did really like the staff. “The cruise with NCL was OK but too far to go to get to...”

The cruise with NCL was OK but too far to go to get to Fanning Island, we had nearly 5 days on-board for only a few hours on Fanning. The ship is very old and it looks it.
This ship was cut in half and a new front/back welded on.
Deck equipment old and in need of replacement.
Not up to Princess standards by half.
Yet good value for money.
Because this was a Freestyle Cruise, there were quite a lot of people on board, not usually the standard you expect for an Hawaii cruise. (read more)

We went on the Norwegian Wind Hawaiian cruise for our honeymoon, and it was amazing.

We waited for two hours for the entry due to passport control etc., but that is always necessary. Once we got on the boat it was beautiful. Within 30 minutes we got our luggage. After some exploring (with the help of very kind staff and a good map) we saw different style's of restaurants. The 11 days we were on the cruise, we always ate at different restaurant.
