Good Points: Small, light, easy to use, excellent resolution, robust manufacture.
Bad Points: Battery Life is low, but if using a 2CR5M without the LCD on you can get about 500 shots.
General comments: I have used the Canon PowerShot A50 digital camera since December 1999, and find that its solid feel and easy to use features, make taking a good picture easy, the software provided is excellent (Zoom Browser, Photostitch, Photo Impact). The only downside to this camera is the battery usage which is heavy so you need to carry extra batteries with you. The Auto Focus function is somewhat slow, so this camera is really only suitable for 'stills'. For action shots you need to use the multi shot feature which allows you to capture the action. Taking Panoramas are a cinch with the photostich software.

1.3 Megapixel, 3x optical zoom, super easy to use, really
easy on batteries. I get about 100 pictures per battery.
The best point-and-shoot digital camera on the market (IMHO).
