I would whole heartedly recommend britax first class si car seat, we bought one for our son and it saved his life in my opinion. I had an accident when driving with my 16 month old son, where my car rolled three times and stopped on its roof, which my son slept through. My son was completely unharmed in this accident, and left the scene of the accident after a quick inspection from the paramedics at the roadside home to bed. Upon inspecting the carseat the following day there appeared to be no damage...

I found the fitting instructions easy to follow and have transfered it into several types of cars. No problems removing covers for cleaning. My son is 2yrs 4mths now and not particularly tall, he has enjoyed the 66cm seat height allowing him to look out the window. Until recently being able to recline the seat with him in was very easy and really useful. Now the bulky 57cm seat depth has began to limit how much he can move his feet which also means using the recline when he doses off is not an option...

I agree with some comments mentioned. This seat is sturdy, safe and when fitted, totally solid. Your little one is really safe and secure in this seat and if all I had to bother about is the initial fitting and the straps (which only need to be adjusted a few times), isnt this worth it to make sure they have good protection and a seat that doesnt keep moving about. I bought a cheaper seat (not Britax) and it just showed me the quality of Britax cause this seat was useless and never felt secure....

DO NOT BUY A BRITAX CAR SEAT. It's a strong brand name but don't be fooled. The locking mechanism is very poorly design and you will have extreme difficulty getting this seat in and out of position with any speed at all. It's fine when it is in position but the manufacturers have clearly not considered that people do need to swap cars seats from time to time - and do it in a minute or two without the aid of a mallet. I gave this one star only because there was no option for zero stars....

I have had this car seat for 6 years now! I would recommend the britax first class to anyone. It has served my 2 children wonderfully. I had no problems with the fitting once I learned how to fit it correctly. My 1st child was in it until 3 years old and my 2nd child (who was slightly bigger for her age) was in it until 2 and a half years old. Because it has an alternative belt route it has fit any car I have had, including a Ford Escort which are quite difficult to get a well fitted car seat for....

4 years later we are about to buy a second Britax First Class Car Seat for our next child. This is secure, comfy. the only problem is fitting but once you have worked it out it is easy. I would not consider an alternative seat!. ...

We both find the Britax First Class Car Seat easy to use, feel it's secure and versatile as it can swap between so many cars. £130 well spent and if we'd shopped around could have bought it for less....

Yesterday my wife had an accident on the motorway, spun off and went backwards into the tree. My daughter was in a Britax First Class Si on the back seat. The boot of our Honda Civic is not really there any more. The passenger door on the side my daughter was on is crumpled. The car is a complete write off. My wife was cut out of the car because she had severe back pain. Thankfully she's OK but can't move much today because she's in a lot of pain and is badly bruised. My 11 month old daughter...

Thanks for sharing this terrible experience but invaluable information with us as this is what we REALLY need to know. Will it keep our children safe in an accident. Thankfully it did for your daughter and for me, this is the best recommendation I could ask for. Best wishes for a speedy recovery to your wife.

I found this review very helpful because...it tells me what I need to know, that my baby would be safe if anything happened in the car. the only real consideration when choosing a car seat. Thanks and Hope all is well now.

I have to say that the Britax First Class Car Seat is the worst item of "Babyware" I have bought. The shape of the underneath is extremely damaging to car upholstery and padding resulting in stretched leather, and indentations. Adjusting the straps to the next height position requires your hand and wrist to bend to positions that are virtually impossible. I contacted Britax shortly after buying this seat as the straps twist up and get jammed every single time I tighten them. They could not provide...

We had difficulty finding a seat to fit both our cars. We've had this Britax First Class Car Seat for nearly two years now and it's great. It has an "alternative" way to fit it, which is why it's so versatile. Children like the high seating postion because they can look around better, so we have happy journeys. We are about to buy a second as we now need it for two children....

Britax First Class Car Seat. a great realistic priced car seat that lasts. reclines in many positions deep and well secured easy to install from birth upwards, strap adjustment is not quick or easy. a bit fiddly....

I felt the Britax First Class Car Sea was easy to use, adjust and move from car to car once I had been shown how to do it . I struggled for ages to find the strap adjuster to enable me to loosen the straps but once shown where the button I needed to press was, I found it really easy to adjust.Pity with all the instructions on the seat they didn't find space to indicate this! I agree with other peoples comments about lifting a baby in and out of the car but found it easier to put the seat behind...

I tried lots of different car seats, the Britax First Class Car Seat was the easiest to fit and really felt safe when installed (others felt a bit wobbly!). A deep comfortable seat, easy to fit and change between different cars. Baby looks happy and comfortable in the car seat with 5 reclining positions. Reasonably priced for the protection it offers. I would recommend this seat. ...

Easy to use, nice reclining position can be altered with one hand. My daughter looks very comfy in the seat and is well supported. Very pleased with it. Struggled to get the pink though, got it from boots.com eventually....

Some reviewers found it difficult to seat bigger babies in this seat. I found it much easier to get into the back of the car next to seat and slide baby in rather than trying to squeeze him in through the small gap left by the chair when accessing it from the nearside. We're just about to switch it to forward facing, so not sure how it will fare, but I'm sure it will be very good. Excellent value for money, especially if you hunt around on the Net. We purchased ours from new for under £100....

The Britax First Class Car Seat is very versatile, and it lasts for a long time. It is quite bulky, and not the easiest to move between two cars, but it is an excellent item from a name you can trust....

I have found this seat to be better than any infant carrier for a newborn, in that the insert cushion makes them so snug there is not a chance of the baby's head flopping. The Britax First Class Car Seat fits easily into any car I have put it into.
Excellent buy, and value for money....

Overall, the Britax First Class SI rear/forward facing car seat is a good car seat, but the ease of getting a child in and out is so poor that I would not recommend it.
It is easy to fit and move from car to car. The cushioned straps can be easily loosened and tightened, and it tilts back for sleeping. However, the seat sits very high in our car (Skoda Fabia), which makes it very difficult to get our 19 month old into the car seat without banging her head on the car....

The Britax First Class SI car seat was fine until I needed to adjust the shoulder strap height, then it became a nightmare. The straps must be undone from a claw on the underside of the car seat so you have to remove the whole thing from the car. The claw is designed to keep the straps in place and this it does very well but its position on the undercarraige leaves no room for your hands and makes it near impossible to manage.
Exceedingly fiddly... took me 45 mins to alter shoulder straps it...

How do i adjust the straps in this car seat?the buckle is too big for the holes at the back!

This Britax First Class SI car seat is easy to fit either rear facing or forward facing. I found that my previous car seat was not correctly fitted when i had it checked by a qualified fitter. I was shocked to find this the case. The seat belt lock on my Ford Escort was too high making it a loose fit. It was recommended that I change the type of seat I had. This seat is able to be fitted in most types of cars regardless where the seatbelt lock is situated. My little boy is eight months old and enjoys...

Britax Car Seats - As I am a childminder, and a mother of two, I need to look around for good value for money and quality. Having read a few reviews on the net about this car seat and knowing Britax quality I decided to hunt around to see who would give me the best price. Prices were between £99 with free delivery, up to £120 plus delivery. No competition really. All the children that use it are comfy and have no trouble falling asleep as it can slide easily into several different reclining...
