“Maclaren twin triumph”

★★★★★

written by on 23/06/2011

I have a scarlet maclaren twin triumph and love it! I bought it after having a phil & teds buggy with double kit which i found LOADS of problems with, and i decided to go for a basic lightweight twin stroller for my 24 month old and 2 month old. The triumph is easy to set up and adjust the straps to fit both my kids. It is sooo easy to push with handels at a great height (some strollers are very low) its easy to bump up and down stairs even with my baby in it (great as i live in a flat!) both my children are comfy and have plenty space. Lovely big hoods and simple raincover, maclarens great 5 point harness (important as my daughter is an escape artist but cannot get out of this! ) have yet to find a doorway that i cant fit through which is a definet plus! And it looks lovely with its cheerful red colour! Only things i can think may be a downside it doesnt come with cosytoes or headhuggers, which was fine for me as my daughter wouldnt have used them and i used cosytoes from an old stroller for my son. If your looking for a good value (bought mines new for just £155) lightweight double buggy without extras then this is the buggy to get!

Nice lookiing, easy to steer, however seat position is no good at all. doesn't lay back right and when upright my daughter doesn't look comfy at all. She ends uplooking asif she is about to slide off as seat is not deep enough and backrest is still leaning back. Brakes are really stiff and always end up waking my little girl up when I put them on. Shopping basket is barely big enough for a loaf of bread and if you put a bag of shopping on handles it tips easily.

This pushchair would be very good except for the positioning of the back of the seat. It doesn't have a good upright position at all so the child is always partially reclined. As a result my son doesn't like it and I'll probably end up getting a new pushchair that he will sit in for more than 5 minutes. Because of the recline I wouldn't recommend this pushchair at all.

I didn't relaise before I bought it that the recline was a clasp mechanism so it very weak which is what makes it fall backwards when i put my son in and his weight leans on the back. It would have been helpful if this had been pointed out to me before i bought it. It cost me £110.

“this pushchair is sooooooooooooooooo goood ”

this pushchair is sooooooooooooooooo goood
i like the maclaren truimph stroller
the scarlet and charcoal one looks nice also the raspberry one / pink grey and red.

i know it doesn't have a LARGE shopping basket but thats why it is called a umbrella stroller becasue it is meant to be lightweight and easy to manover so if it had a large shopping basket and large hood and the stroller could of been a bit bog then it WOULDNT BEEN CALLED A UMBRELLA STROLLER- WHICH MEANS LIGHT AND EASY TO USE.

I think the stroller has good qualities, i think that it is easy to use becasue my cousin had the pink one and i have tried using it and it is ok to use.
the wheels do turn/ swivel which is very good to use unlike some strollers. it is SUITABLE FROM 3 MONTHS BECASUE SOME UMBRELLA STROLLERS ARE MOSTLY FROM 6 MONTHS except for the ones from birth.
but even if it not from birth it is really good because you only have to wait three months becasue some good and liight weight strollers you haave to wait 6 months.

so overall i think the umbrella strolller/maclaren triumph is really good i give it five stars i think the price is ok i would recomend it to any1

I like the fact that the maclren triumph stroller is lightweight and folds flat. It works very good for quick trips, or for taking my daughter to daycare.

I dont like:
1. It doesnt fully recline, nor is it ever fully upright, so its just a bit uncomfortable for my daughter, and almost impossible to nap, unless she is very very tired, and even then, the nap will not last too long.
2. The hood is very small, so it only works to shade her if the sun is directly above.
3. The wheels are very small plastic ones, so its a bouncy ride!
4. The underneath basket is small, and when you keep the raincover in it, you can forget about even having a basket!
5. The raincover is not sturdy, meaning she can easily kick it off, or poke her head out the side.
6. The harness, it just gets stuck ALL the time!!

The Maclaren Triumph is lightweight, easy to put up and down but I found my raincover easily torn with a 2 year old kicking it! Holding onto it for dear life on buses! Can be difficult to steer, especially if child sits forward. Worst buggy I have ever owned! Looks terrible after 1 year of barely being used and was not worth the £89 I paid for it. Going out to buy a new buggy tomorrow and not McLaren.

Overall I feel that this Maclaren is a good light weight and inexpensive buggy. I have bought two Maclarens now (due to the first one being stolen!) and have been happy to date.

The Maclaren Triumph is a great buggy, so light, easy to move, great rain cover and so light. I also like the shoulder straps that come with it so you can carry it like a rucksack. Only downside is the brakes are so hard to move over with your feet and don't stay on properly.

The Maclaren Triumph is a great pushchair that's practical & stylish. Comfortable to push & light weight. Easy to fold & open & of good size. Very smooth to steer. Shame it can't be used from birth as it's so practical for shopping etc.
Very good value for money

This Maclaren Triumph Pushchair is a fabulous lightweight compact stroller, ideally suited for an older child as it does not recline flat and there is no headhugger included. Yes the basket is a little small but then this is to be expected of a compact umbrella folding stroller. I am delighted with mine and I have had a Graco and a mothercare own stroller. This is by far the nicest to look at and the easiest to push, it seems to just glide and the swivel wheels just don't seem to lock up or get stuck at all. The foam angled handles make it great to push too.

written by chapscat on 13/06/2004

The small basket of the Maclaren Triumph is frustrating when out shopping, because it's very difficult to get anything larger than a nappy in there. The small wheels make it feel slightly un-sturdy. However, it is sleek and looks good- it's just not particularly practical.

I got my little buggy for £25 from Tesco. I think it is great! The only bad point I can think of is the small under buggy tray, but this buggy folds up SMALL, so this is the price you pay for being able to pop it over your shoulder when your little one has decided he doesn't want to sit in it. It fits in a small car boot, weighs little and runs well with a choice of letting your wheels swivel or having them locked. The rain cover is an added bonus for a buggy this cheap.
