Bought this 13 years ago. The dealer was insistent and talked me down from a cheaper but higher speed pellet gun (bless his heart). I remember he said that I would end up shooting this gun more than any other gun I owned and, man, was he right. It costs a little more than the average gun but it is worth every penny. The 700 fps is perfect for the home owner who doesn't want to be heard. Trust me, it is accurate. The most fun are backyard woodchucks. I've learned that shots to the head must be perpendicular to the skull - off angle will sometimes glance. Body shots need to be right on or they manage to limp off. Everything smaller is a no problem, rats, squirrels, chipmonks, starlings.BTW, I have never had to replace any parts including the spring. Also have never shot BBs just .177 lead. Perfect size and deadly quiet.

The Beeman R7 (HW 30S) is a beautifully crafted air rifle. It is essentially an old-fashioned break-barrel 10m target rifle. Once one gets used to a quality two-stage trigger, it is difficult to settle for less.- Read jabarret's review (55 words)

R7 Review
After waiting for over 2 months to receive my R7 .20 cal I finally got. Overall the quality of the gun is impressive, it felt solid, the woodwork was finished well and the metal work flawless. I quickly set up some targets (tin cans) and got started reading instructions.
Set up shooting from a sitting position with elbow resting on table and gun resting in hand. First shot went off with a BANG and lots of smoke more like a .22 firearm. The next couple of shots where the same but ...- Read aussie boy's review (737 words and 1 comment)

I sold my RWS 350 and bought a Beeman R-7. While I gave up significant ft.lbs. of energy, I gained a rifle that I can shoot all day long. I have a static target at 35 yards and I am hitting 1/2 inch bulls eyes regularly. My groups are tight and the R7 is just fun to shoot. Not hold sensitive and shoots most pellets well. Build quality is very good and the rifle feels solid.
Today I became weary of shooting the small tin can I had hung with twine on a post at my 35 yard target. So, I t ...- Read mcmike's review (162 words and 3 comments)

The Beeman R-7 overall is a great gun. It is important to remember what it is and where it fits in to the Beeman line or air rifles in general. It is meant to be a light, accurate plinker. It is NOT a childs gun, specifically its length of pull (i.e. the measurement from the butt pad to the trigger) it is the same length or extrememly close to that of Beeman's R-1 @14.3 in. It is very light, ( 6.1 lbs.) very short overall (40.2 in.) and very easy to cock (18lbs.) compared to any of my other magn ...- Read Dual Mag Mike's review (377 words and 4 comments)

I just purchased my first adult class air rifle: the German made Beeman R7. I wanted to get a good break barrel air rifle so I did extensive research on the internet in preparation for my purchase. Since I was not really concerned with the price, I decided to get the one that seems to be universally considered the finest introductory, mid-price, adult spring air rifle made.
I own a Crosman 1077 co2 rifle and a Benjamin Sheridan Model 397 pneumatic rifle (also made by Crosman) and their quali ...- Read harrisdaraio's review (750 words and 2 comments)

The Beeman R-7 is a fabulously accurate gun. I shoot dime size groups at 25 yards. I enjoy taking the Air Rifle to my indoor range and wiping the smirks off the jarheads with their M-16's and magnums.
I own a 23 year old HW-30S fitted with an aperture sight and a new R-7 tuned by Paul Watts with a Maccari Walnut stock in Grade III walnut.
Not very powerful, if you want that, get an R1 but if you want quietness, accuracy and quality, get one of these.
The 23 year old one still has th ...- Read torqueguy's review (114 words and 1 comment)

I bought my Beeman R-7 .177 Air Rifle after purchasing and promptly returning two other "magnum" air rifles in the $200 range. The R-7, although not classed as a magnum, was about 50 bucks more but worth it all and then some. It's beautifully made and I can't believe how accurate this gun is. Simply put, it hits where you aim it. Last night I was in the garage at 20 feet splitting golf tees with it. Now granted, 20 feet is pretty close, but then again, a golf tee is only about the width of ...- Read pelstacker's review (225 words)

Just got my Beeman R-7 about a week ago in .177 caliber. Took it out of the box and for the price was very impressed with the quality as far as feel, looks, stock, weight, etc. I ordered this for my wife as she is 5' tall and about 95 lbs. I have a Weihrauch HW 97 K and is to heavy and hard for her to handle.
After vast research on the internet and here at this site the R-7 appeared to be a good choice for someone her size (only 18lbs to cock it and light weight) I like the .177 calip ...- Read Aim to Please's review (628 words and 4 comments)

Great beginner gun for a kid or a woman-if you're willing to spend 200 plus dollars for a beginner gun. Quiet yes, powerful no.
Great accuracy and aesthetic qualities-nice looking gun. You pay a lot extra for the "Beeman mystique" and there are better airguns out there for the money. Keep looking.- Read Carlton's review (64 words and 2 comments)

I got my R-7 about 6 months ago. And i was impressed with the shooting manners from the first shot. However the rifle is very muzzle light and makes off hand shooting somewhat disappointing, considering the accuracy that is available. So I installed a Apex muzzle brake (similar) to a crow mag brake, this added just the right amount of weight to steady the off hand hold. I then added a JM tune kit which smoothed up everything even more. The final result is a fantastic, light weight, super accura ...- Read Michael's review (177 words)

The R7 is the ideal air rifle if you were to have just one. It's easy to handle, accurate and quiet. The only minor thing that some say it lacks is the extra power. But I feel the good points in this rifle make up for that. Of all the rifles I have, this is the one I use if I have to shoot at something I don't want to miss.- Read Mark's review (82 words)

The .177 caliber Beeman R7 is a classic. It is as well suited for beginners as it is experienced shooters. The R7 is easy to cock. Confidence grows fast with a gun that hits what it is aimed at. Children and women will find this rifle a pleasure to shoot. You can plink or target shoot all day long without getting fatigued. It is deadly accurate on small pest birds. Being spring powered means there are no air tanks or pumps to haul around. Multiple strokes are not required to get 700 fps+ f ...- Read John's review (242 words)

Older Santa Rosa model is the one I have and wood extends beyond the barrel pivot making the gun look very classy. New R-7's not as well finished I've read, but have a front post sight similar to the R-9 now - This gun is a smooth shooter and you really won't want to put it down after you select it for shooting! Hard to find a good used R-7 anywhere though: everyone loves theirs. With sling and muzzlebrake this gun looks as good as it shoots!- Read CAPK's review (139 words)

The Beeman R-7 deserves a review on this list. I bought an R-7 after seeking advice of several online air gun experts and after reading many reviews. The R-7 isn't super powerful but it's accurate and a great basement/garage shooter. Quiet - I can shoot it without waking the kids. It's a little light if you're used to target firearms but that lets it double as a good trainer for young folks and small stature adults. Easy cocking makes it a pleasure for extended shooting. Nice trigger - many say ...- Read Dand's review (156 words and 3 comments)
