    Good Points: Ship, crew, destination.

    Bad Points: Dinner.

General comments: After 16 years of marriage, my husband and I booked our first cruise for Sep 05. We choose Royal Caribbean because it departed from Baltimore at 5:00pm, was a 5 night cruise and the destination was Bermuda which we heard was quite beautiful.

Arriving at the port at noon, we were comfortably on the ship within 15 minutes and having lunch soon after that. Our room was available at 2:00 and we were pleasantly surprised. Friends and family offered opinions on how small the rooms would be, and it was, but still had a queen size bed, full sofa and vanity and lots of storage area. We were quite impressed.

The days at sea were great, plenty for all to do on the ship. We spent 2 days in Bermuda which was wonderful. The scenery was incredible, the beaches were the most beautiful we had every scene. Yes, the sand is pink! The Bermudians were so nice and helpful and St. George's had the best shopping. We really enjoyed being able to stay and really see the island, instead of jumping from place to place. We highly recommend this type of cruise.

The staff aboard the Grandeur was fantastic. Our cabin steward catered to our every wish, the wait staff was excellent, the Captain was very friendly, every employee on the ship was a pleasure.

As far as food, breakfast and lunch were good, but we did have one big disappointment, dinner!

We either went to breakfast or lunch at the Windjammer each day. Breakfast was good and there was something for everyone from cereal to full service omelets. Lunch was very tasty with a variety of sandwiches, salads and hot entrees. Dinner was another story. We ate each evening in the Great Gatsby. Again, the staff was excellent and the table was beautiful, but that's where the "grandeur" stopped. The menu was never exciting i.e. fried chicken, roast turkey, tilapia (very cheap fish), sea bass, etc. Where was the gourmet which we assumed was part of the price per person we paid? Fresh tuna, a decent steak, crab cake, not that expensive when purchased in bulk! When passengers go to the trouble of dressing up each evening for dinner, could we at least get a more upscale meal?

All in all this was a wonderful trip and we will definitely cruise again with Royal Caribbean and only hope the dinner budget increases.
