I ordered an external hard drive from Play. The price was really good which should have warned me it was too much of a good thing. The drive should have been delivered in less than 5 days. I received the item in 9 working days. The product and price was amazing, but the delay in delivery time was bad. I required the drive to backup my mac as I was selling it and needed to wipe it before, Yes I should have done that a long tie before selling it which I had done but my backup drive failed a week before selling it on eBay. As I think we all know Play offers very good value and FREE shipping but obviously the FREE shipping means snail delivered. If you are happy to wait very good.

I ordered Battle Field 3 PC game just around January 2013, 2 weeks later not delivered, so contact play.com twice and no reply, they simply ignored the email, so i sent the email on there helpdesk, advisor replied and suggested can send a replacement but wouldnt be ideal so they were happy to send refund, i accepted the refund thinking they wouldnt refund, i actually did get the refund just 2 days later, didnt have too much problem with play.com with this query but the fact that item wasnt delivered and 2 emails never got replied really questioned my trust in play.com, this is the 2nd problem i had with play.com, i dont think i'l be using this store anymore...

Ordered from Play.com for years, at the start you could call and get through and service was always priority, nowadays you are just a number, had a problem with a missing delivery and had to wait 3 weeks for a replacement reminiscing about the good old days

I've ordered before from Play and it's got a great selection and very good deals. One problem I had was that I ordered something as a gift for someone - but there is no option to say it is a gift, so it just gets sent. Not really ideal.

Ordered 4 games at play.com: 2 at play.com itself, 2 via Zavvioutlet. a week later or so, i only received the 2 games ordered from play.com itself but not those of Zavvioutlet. I contacted play.com by e-mail. Customer service replied quickly and friendly and offered me to either refund the money or send the 2 games once more. (they said the first delivery probably got lost in post). I chose to still receive the 2 games and actually received them a few days later.

I ordered an HTC One X from them which had a problem with its WiFi as did many other phones from that line. Play.com told me it was impossible for them to repair or replace since it was more than 28 days since purchase so I had to go through HTC warranties. HTC waited about 2 weeks then told me I had to pay £195 to have it repaired or £25 to have it sent back un-repaired. After a bit of complaining to Play.com I got it escalated and eventually they agreed to pay the £25 to have it returned, then have me send it to them for a full refund. Needless to say I'm using the refund money to buy a Samsung Galaxy S3 instead.

I am a consist DVD purchaser and Play.com is always one of the first places I check out for cheap DVDs, and the occasional hidden gem. In the six or so years that I have been registered with them I have very rarely had issues, and when I have most of them have been down the muddling incompetence of the Royal Mail (but that is the UK postal service for you). I never buy from playtrade sellers, as it is essentially just an entertainment Ebay hidden behind a play.com logo and a couple of purchases I have made from those sellers have been less than satisfactory. But in terms of play.com themselves, I have found their service to be satisfactory. Yes, some items have never been received because they were unable to get stock and yes, some have arrived a little than advertised, but paying £2.99 you don't expect a gold plated service.

Cant believe to see such a low ranking for a online name many of us love. I have used thema few times and they are pretty good. I do admit ebay is cheaper but play comes on handy too sometmes.

Ive used play for years and they always seem to have a low price for products. My only grip is that shipping can be very slow compared to amazon and when items go out of stock you may as well cancel.

I have been using play for a good few years now and have to admit the service has gone downhill to what it once was, post is touch a go with play it's either quick or very slow, it used to be very quick all the time, if you buy a cd or book the packaging is fine, but anything bigger and they send it in a unnecessary huge box with leaflets wasting resources. They are very good at prices sometimes cheaper then amazon before they price match. So could do with improvement.

Overall happy with play.com. Website is easy to understand and navigate. Prices are really good mostly better than anywhere else. Delivery takes a while but has always came in their suggested time of 3-5 days. But comes mainly towards the 5 day mark. - maybe just a personal experience. Would recommend to anyone looking to find a bargain. I also have used their MP3 downloads service and have found this faultless.

the new redesign of the play.com website is horrible. Its lost all of its brand identity in my eyes and just used some kind of stock wordpress template. Prices are ok but not as competitive as they used to be, some deals to be had though.

I've used Play.com a lot and until not had a problem with them. The problem comes when you order something they don't have in stock. At no point on the Website does it say they don't have the item in stock and I didn't receive an email to let me know I wouldn't be getting the item any time soon. I emailed their customer service asking why they don't communicate with their customer the item isn't in stock and instead of a proper response I got a template email telling me stock sometimes take up to 28 days to arrive. Awful customer service.

used to order all the time from play but recently I am not liking their new site since it has been redesigned as i find it quite generic and boring and also its hard to navigate to the correct categories, unlike before. Overall they still offer good value products but they need to sort out there site or lose more custom!

saw some really awesome t shirts on play but had heard mixed reviews about their delivery service. I noticed a t shirt out of stock that I liked so i emailed them to find out when it would be back in stock, they look ages to reply only to say they dont supply it in the size i want any longer. frustrating. so when i eventually chose what i wanted, i was expecting delivery in the next few days like the site suggested. A week later i was still waiting and getting a bit miffed. They eventually turned up. Really good site, just slow delivery is pretty frustrating.

I've been using Play for some years and would still recommend them for the fantastic deals - however, over the last 12 months or so they've gone down hill. Delivery used to be within 3-5 days, now you're lucky if it arrives a week later. At Christmas I filled my basket with stuff for the kids only to be told at checkout that half of it wasn't in stock, wasting an inordinate amount of time because what was in stock wasn't worth placing an order for. I've never had anything go missing, though, and some of their deals are second to none - and for that reason I will continue to use them.

I Looked at the low review rating on play.com and I cant believe it. I've had nothing but great experience with them. OK, so on my last order they were a bit slow on sending the item, but their pricing and range of products is excellent. Overall, with the amount of orders they have, I would think that they would have some annoyed customers (law of averages) but i cant really fault them.

Cd arrived quick no problems, still think it might have arrived quick from amzaon, but was £1 cheaper on play. Overall play have never let me down. Just not quite as polished as amazon, but much better than HMV

I am used to getting to getting my goods on time from Play, so when it goes over the 5 days I usually assume it has been lost as this has happened to me once before on the site with a product I pre-ordered. I also expect to see what I ordered to go down in price in probably a weeks time, like the other DVD's I have bought lately. I am starting to look in more places for my DVD's as Play don't seem tobe as comptetitve as they once were.
