I bought a Tom Tom Satnav from Play.com. It was faulty and was repaired by the manufacturer. When it malfunctioned for a second time I asked Play.com for a refund. They agreed and told me the unit would be collected by Parcel Force - nothing happened so I contacted them to be given a completely different story (i.e speak to Tom Tom not us). I have wasted a lot of time on this issue and am very disappointed with the service offered by Play.com (and also by the unreliability of the Tom Tom unit)
I feel I received very poor Customer Service - have only used Play.com once...there won't be a second time.

Will only be using Play.com for in stock items as they do not appear to care about making customers wait (I didn't receive an email or notification of the possible delay). I had to get on their case and even then, isn't having to wait for pre-ordered products against the reasons for pre ordering in the first place? I am just sick of Play.com's pre-ordering which on the last 3 occasions has meant that I have had to go elsewhere. At least Amazon tells you how many are in stock and Tesco does send ...

No problems with 38 items ordered over past few years, usually arrives within a few days. Most recently, the most expensive item ordered, a £70 box set, didn't arrive when several cheaper items posted at the same time did.Trying to contact via the website was near impossible, unclear, and the response unhelpful. I have been using Play.com for many years and I have never ever once been disappointed with the level of service i have received, everything is well packaged, orders are always processed within 48 hours. If you don't like the site, then go down to the shops.

Play.com dispatched the wrong item. I ordered a dvd for my brother's birthday in plenty of time and they sent me the wrong item on the day of his birthday which didn't leave me enough time to order a replacement. I have returned the item and am still waiting for a refund. It seems near impossible for me to contact them unless I ring an 0845 premium rate number. I emailed them and recieved an automated response saying that the mailbox was unmanned. Am not expecting to ever see my money again.

Play.com, very poor service, wouldn't recommend anyone to use this web site.
I ordered 2 games and a bluetooth headset, according to the web site the games were dispatched a day before the headset, received the headset after 4 days but no sign of games!
Called their helpdesk, told I will need to wait 21 days before making an official complaint!
It seems they send out games with a value of around £40 a piece with no security and expect them to arrive!!

I've bought hundreds of items from Play.com over the years and have only ever had very minor problems. When I have encountered a problem they've been very quick to put it right.

I have been on Play.com for years no problems what so ever I get my items on time and have excellent working games. But now I have recently ordered a new game it's been 7 days and I haven't received it. They said they would email me to confirm its dispatch. Well so far nothing...but their website stated they had. Would advise everyone to avoid at all costs. This site is only marginally cheaper but you get much worse service. Do your self a favour, pay an extra £2 and make sure you actually receive your items when you expect them.

Probably OK for someone who never leaves home, but those of us with lives need much better information regarding delivery (as opposed to none). Here is a few things i know about www.play.com,
Always read the terms and conditions before ordering anything because it does say that some items do need a security check done before item is sent which means instead of 24hrs to dispatch item it can take 48hrs to do.
I have also needed to return items back as well and each time i have rang up play.com after visiting the post office to get my postage refund after all they don't know how much it is going to cost to return an item or what you can ...

Was looking forward to receiving my son's birthday gift of a fly-tech mosquito, ordered it on a Thursday PM, arrived today (Monday) however it was cordless laser keyboard!!! not happy as son's birthday is on Friday and the item they sent weighs over 2kg and it's an awkward shape to carry on my bike to the post office and now i've gotta waste 20-30 minutes of my lunch break returning the dam thing!! and i've gotta have the postage refunded. so im going to get stung for a hefty postage fee to pay ...

Play.com promises dispatch within 24 hours.
I placed my order at around 2pm on Wednesday
At 4.30pm I received an email asking me to confirm my details by phone for security purposes (perfectly reasonable). I answered all the questions and all went apparently smoothly.
Checking the website on Thursday am I saw that my card had been declined. This was for a debit card with strong credit balance and no previous history of any refused payment.

Have recently ordered two mobile phones from them expecting to recieve them in the only colour illustrated which is black, and the only colour I wanted. I have since read that customers have recieved their phones in the silver which I did not want. I am now left waiting on my order with fear of what might arrive and what I might have to go through to get them exchanged. They should state whether they have a choice of colour so not to dissapoint customers.
I advise that you always ring them first ...

I order the special edition of Metal Gear Solid 4, OVER A MONTH before its UK release in the hopes on getting my hands on a copy. The day of release finally came and went. Good website. Easy to order. Well packed. Genuine product. Very good price. Free delivery.
All good news, except for the slight slowness at their end. Took 48hrs to "process" my order - so total delivery time (from order) was 5 days, which surprised me.
